Here are 5 things you need to know about Taylor Swift's Cosmo interview:

1. She couldn't be happier living in New York...

Swift has seen the move as a challenge and absolutely loves living in the city. She admits it's a difficult place to live and completely changed her way of life by moving but that's part of its charm Swift argues. In the interview she said "Moving to New York is the best thing I've ever done. I never thought I'd be able to survive that city." She further added "I needed a new challenge and there's no bigger challenge than uprooting your life, finding new places to hang out, new friendship circles."

2. She's happily single...

But that doesn't stop people from trying to set her up which she's not too fond of. Apparently people believe Swift should be with someone and are always attempting to get her to meet people but she's simply not interested. Swift said "People will say, let me set you up with someone, and I'm just sitting there saying, 'that's not what I'm doing. I'm not lonely; I'm not looking.'"

3. She adores Lena Dunham (like the rest of us)...

Swift and Dunham are great friends and Swift highly praised the Girls creator in the interview. Swift explained the impact Dunham had on her life and outlook. She said Dunham's "perspective has truly shaped me in the past couple of years. She is just so enthusiastic about life, about other women. She is like a hug in the form of a person."

4. Swift is attracted to being happy...

She also thinks dates are slightly traumatic and emphasised how selective she would have to be to consider going on a date with them. Swift further explained how she's finding her life attractive at the moment simply being alone and content. Swift stated "It'd take someone really special for me to undergo the circumstances I have to go through to experience a date. I don't know how I would ever have another person in my world trying to have a relationship with me, or a family. The best answer I can come up with now is 'go at it alone. Life can be romantic without having a romance. I'm very attracted to how happy I am now."

5. She knows gender politics is tricky...

To say the least! Especially how the two sexes are regarded very separately when it comes to romance. Swift explained how she discusses feminism and gender equality with her friends, providing one example of how men who date different women constantly are considered men about town but women are considered 'serial daters'.
