The 2003 film, which centred on a group of Women's Institute members who decided to pose nude for a charity calendar, has already enjoyed success as a West End show, and now Barlow has been handed the job of adding music to the production.

The film featured The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel co-stars Dame Helen Mirren, Penelope Wilton and Celia Imrie and Julie Walters. It is not known if any of the original cast will take the stage for the musical.
