Michael B. Jordan Really Did Get Knocked Out While Filming 'Creed'

Sylvester Stallone

Creed star Michael B. Jordan has been maintaining throughout all the promotional work he’s done for his new movie that he’s not actually a boxer, but an actor. However, he sure does look convincing as a real-life pugilist, particularly in a new video posted by co-star Sylvester Stallone.

Stallone, 69, released a short clip on Twitter of Jordan warming up in the ring with English professional cruiserweight boxer Tony Bellew, who promptly unleashed a right hook and knocked Jordan unconscious – for real! Talk about suffering for your art.

Filming took place in Liverpool at the start of 2015, with Bellew playing Jordan’s English opponent ‘Pretty’ Ricky Conlan.

9 Must-See Boxing Films If You Loved 'Creed'

Michael B. Jordan Sylvester Stallone

The sequel to the 'Rocky' franchise 'Creed' has proved to be one of the champions at the box office during its opening week, which is just as well given the gruelling preparation Michael B. Jordan undertook to get ready for the role. And whilst it's an exciting tale about the son of Apollo Creed, Rocky Balboa's former rival and friend, it's got us thinking about some of the best boxing films there have been.

Uneventful Box Office Maintains Summer Momentum

Chris Pratt Zoe Saldana Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone Wesley Snipes Jet Li Jeff Bridges

Not much to report from the box office after this week – despite all its manpower, Expendables 3 just couldn’t outgun previous chart toppers Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Guardians of the Galaxy and ended up fourth in a line of new releases and return champions. The Turtles continued their reign with a respectable $28,4 million on their second outing according to Rentrak (via The Huffington Post).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Check out the guns on that turtle.

Guardians trailed only slightly behind with $24,7 million. In a slight disappointment for Marvel, the superhero space opera lost its lead in just the second week to the CGI-heavy TMNT flick. Even so, on its third week, GotG has reached an impressive cume of $222 million for distributor Walt Disney. Coupled with TMNT’s earnings this should enough to restore some faith in the 2014 summer box office from studios. For comparison, August so far marks a 14% increase in profits since last year, which of course concerns the average moviegoer roughly 0%.

The Expendables 3 Reassembles The Troops

Sylvester Stallone Jason Statham Mel Gibson

Sylvester Stallone and his franchise for ageing action stars is back! Yes, the gang has nearly doubled for the latest Expendables adventure, stirring in big-named oldies along with fresh blood. The plot may not make any sense, and this one's been chopped down to a PG-13, but with a cast this beefy, you don't want to miss it.

Stallone returns as star and cowriter, along with previous cohorts Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Randy Couture and Terry Crews. The notable no-show this time is Bruce Willis, who is rumoured to have asked for $1 million per day to return, apparently prompting Stallone to tweet, "Greedy and lazy ...... a sure formula for career failure."

Boneheaded 'Expendables 3' Isn't Fooling Anybody

Sylvester Stallone

We sort of got the point ofThe Expendables(2010). It was fun, nostalgic and silly. Most people enjoyed it - which Sylvester Stallone took as "please make another one". So, we gotThe Expendables 2. It was decent. Visually, it was probably better than the first - but let's get things clear, nobody - nobody - wanted The Expendables 3.

The Expendables 3The Expendables 3 cast

And yet here we are. Telling you that The Expendables 3 isn't very good. It stars Stallone and Jason Statham as Barney and Christmas - going head-to-head Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson). Conrad founded the Expendables years ago but sadly became a ruthless arms trader who Barney must now apparently kill.

Ok, So 'The Expendables 3', But You Know Sylvester Stallone Hates Guns, Right?

Sylvester Stallone

A huge proportion of those hitting the cinemas this weekend will be watching Sylvester Stallone shooting people's heads off in a bid to defeat the fearsome....uh..Mel Gibson. Though despite his on-screen persona as an all-action beefcake, Sylvester Stallone is actually one of the NRA's biggest enemies. In fact, Stallone is without doubt the biggest anti-gun star working in Hollywood.

The Expendables 3Sylvester Stallone hates guns

"Until America, door to door, takes every handgun, this is what you're gonna have," the actor famously said. "It's pathetic. It really is pathetic. It's sad. We're living in the Dark Ages [in America]."

So, Who Leaked 'The Expendables 3'? Lexi Alexander Might Know

Sylvester Stallone Lexi Alexander

Lexi Alexander, the director of Green Street Hooligans and Punisher, has been blogging about the recent pre-release leaking of The Expendables 3, and it makes for interesting reading. Lionsgate has been in meltdown for the past week or so after Sylvester Stallone's action-romp made its way online - in good quality.

Expendables 3The cast of 'The Expendables 3'

The studio is going after pretty much everyone, including Google, over the leak, but shouldn't it be searching out the person who stole the footage in the first place? Alexander - who has previously campaigned for the release of Pirate Bay founder Peter Sunde - blogged, ".okay, you want to be mad at the kid in Sweden or Australia for uploading your movie? Go for it.  Oh wait, in cases like Expendables 3 it's actually someone here in Hollywood leaking it."

The Expendables 3 World Premiere [Pictures]

Sylvester Stallone Jason Statham Jonathan Ross

The sun beamed down on a range of A-Z-list celebs last night (August 4) as The Expendables 3 enjoyed its world premiere in London.

As well as the film’s stars, like Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas and Kellan Lutz, a bunch of celebs trampled the red carpet ahead of the film's world premiere including Jonathan Ross, who made some seriously questionable fashion choices.

The all-out action film, currently enjoying a third outing, sees many of Hollywood’s favorite stars combine. At 68, you would think Stallone is coming to end of his stunt career. He, on the other hand, has different ideas.

Film Franchises That Go On Forever

Martin Freeman Peter Jackson Ian McKellen Vin Diesel Sylvester Stallone Bruce Willis Harrison Ford Johnny Depp Mickey Rourke

The Hobbit trilogy has been criticised by some viewers for having too little content spread too thinly over the course of too many films. Originally, the idea was to split the 1937 J. R. R. Tolkien story over two films; however, in 2012, director Peter Jackson confirmed his plans for a third film; some six years after the two-film decision had been made.

Peter Jackson
Director of The Hobbit, Peter Jackson, originally thought the franchise would only spread across two films

Was this to enhance viewers’ experience of the story or was it because three films make more money than two? Audiences will never know. They will instead have to settle with a narrative with a lot less to say than The Lord of the Rings trilogy over the same number of motion pictures; with the final chapter in the piece, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, released in the UK on 12 December.

Cast Of "Expendables 3" Tanks At Cannes. Literally.

Sylvester Stallone Mel Gibson Jason Statham

Tanks at Cannes – if anyone could pull it off, it had to be Sly Stallone and company. Stallone and Expendables 3 costars made their arrival, riding along the Croisette in the French city in two massive Soviet tanks. Sure, it didn’t do anything to help the already terrible traffic in Cannes around festival time, but it did contribute to the film’s eye-popping promotional bill of $2 million, spent over the course of the festival.

Sylvester Stallone
Sylvester Stallone shows his support for the efforts to rescue over 200 girls kidnapped by militants in Nigeria.

Besides the tank stunt, admittedly one of the better ideas to come out of a Hollywood promo team, the $2 million budget also included a promo of clips from the movie and a star-studded press conference at the Carlton hotel. The press conference featured almost all the stars of the film (and the tank stunt) including returning heroes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolph Lundgren, as well as new recruits Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson and Kelsey Grammar. Nu Image and Millenium Films must be working on a very liberal budget this time around.

Should You See 'Grudge Match'? Rocky V Raging Bull? No, No You Shouldn't.

Sylvester Stallone Robert De Niro

Why do Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone do this king of thing? They’re both revered as legends of cinema, to be remembered forever for their classic turns as Travis Bickle, Jake LaMotta, Rocky and Rambo respectively, so why do they both insist on doing truly awful films like Grudge Match?

Robert De Niro and Sylvester StalloneWhy, why, why Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone?

The short answer would involve the words, money, loads of it, and payday, but there’s a sneaking suspicion that these Hollywood stalwarts actually think the constant slew of unfunny, unimaginative reboot/reunion movies are a good idea – like they’ve got an ounce of artistic integrity attached to them. They don’t.

Sly Stallone Would Like To Give Himself A Retrospective Rocky Punch In The Face

Sylvester Stallone Bruce Willis Arnold Schwarzenegger

Sylvester Stallone is in a nostalgic mood, thinking back to his younger days and, it would appear, lamenting them. He also hinted at a reprising his role as Rocky in the upcoming film, ‘Creed’. The legendary actor bore all when speaking to host Jonathan Ross during an on-stage interview at the London Palladium on Saturday.

Sylvester StalloneStill going - Sylvester Stallone

"I abused power badly. I read some of the interviews I gave now and wish I could go back and punch myself in the face," he continued. Stallone, who stars alongside Robert di Niro in the comedy boxing film, Grudge Match, also spoke of a new project in which he’ll play Rocky once more, but confirmed that it’s not a sequel in any way shape or form.

Stallone And De Niro Miss The Punch In 'Grudge Match' - Review Round-Up

Robert De Niro Sylvester Stallone Alan Arkin Kevin Hart Kim Basinger

Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone are no strangers to putting on their boxing gloves for the sake of the movies and in their latest film, Grudge Match, the two screen icons are putting their respective ages aside to step into the ring once again. The film comes with a lot of promise, starring Alan Arkin, Kevin Hart and Kim Basinger alongside the two screen titans, yet sadly the overall response to the film from critics has been very underwhelming.

Grudge Match
Stallone, Arkin, Hart and De Niro miss the mark with their latest film

The film stars Stallone and De Niro as two retired boxers, both well past their best, who ended their career with a long-standing and unresolved feud some years earlier. After meeting each other for the first time in years in a chance encounter, their feud returns and boils into a confrontation that ends in a melee of sorts, one that almost instantly goes viral and reignites interest in the former fighters. Soon they are receiving offers to return to the ring and settle their feud once and for all, but they can only make it into the ring if they can actually regain their fitness in time for the big fight.

'Gravity' Still Orbiting Top Spot At The US Box Office For Third Week Running

Sandra Bullock George Clooney Tom Hanks Chloe Moretz Benedict Cumberbatch Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone

It's been three weeks since it was released to the American public, but the sci-fi thriller Gravity has stayed strong and continued to dominate the US box office. The Sandra Bullock and George Clooney-starring film has continued to be a popular choice among cinema goers, helped largely by its word-of-mouth success and continued success in 3D and IMAX cinemas.

Gravity
Even Sandra Bullock can't believe Gravity's success

In what was a relatively lackluster weekend at the movies, Gravity added to its already impressive domestic gross with another $31 million (estimate) coming in from audiences since Friday (18 Oct.). The space-set Oscar contender did face some competition for the top spot, but its nearest rivals - horror remake Carrie and fellow Oscar-contender Captain Phillips - failed to do enough, leaving Gravity sitting pretty at the top of the US film chart. The estimated $31 million brought in over the weekend bring the total domestic gross to a whooping $170.6 million, a huge amount for a film that was predicted to only do modestly before its release three weeks ago.

'Gravity' Leads At The Box Office Once Again After Lackluster Weekend

Sandra Bullock George Clooney Tom Hanks Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone Chloe Moretz

Gravity needs no introduction anymore. The Sandra Bullock and George Clooney-starring sci-fi thriller has been written about and praised highly non-stop since it was released three weeks ago and on the top of this massive audience and critical success, the film has held strong for it's third consecutive weekend at the top of the box office. This weekend, it's estimated gross reflected a disappointing three days for the movie business, but with approximately $31 million coming in from audiences since Friday (18 Oct.), that number has been enough to keep the Alfonso Cuaron-directed film at the top for another week.

Gravity
Gravity still soars above the competition

There was some competition for the film, namely from newcomer Carrie and fellow Oscar-contender Captain Phillips, which finished the week in second place for a second consecutive week. Despite the best efforts from it's nearest competitors, and still benefitting from the revenue it receives from 3D and IMAX tickets, Gravity is sitting pretty at the top of the film chart once again. With a reported gross of $170.6 million domestically in just three weeks, the film is already the 10th highest grossing film of the year in the home market, and there is a good chance that the film will go on to climb up a few more places in the year's top ten before it's cinematic run is over. Take into consideration the fact that it hasn't been released in international markets yet, then Gravity could become one of the top grossing films of the year.

'Gravity' Still Soars Above Competition And Earns It's Third Weekend Atop The Box Office

Sandra Bullock George Clooney Chloe Moretz Benedict Cumberbatch Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone

Gravity is still America's most popular film at the cinemas, as the Sandra Bullock and George Clooney-starring sci-fi disaster movie has held strong for it's third consecutive weekend at the top of the box office. Despite some strong competition from newcomer Carrie and some other new titles from the week, the 3D and IMAX phenomenon is still performing strongly and sitting pretty at the top of the film chart.

Gravity
Gravity is still top at the box office

Gravity's weekend gross reflected a disappointing three days for the movie business, with only $31 million coming in from cinema-goers since Friday. Still, this has proved to be enough to keep it's nearest competitor at bay and enjoy yet more success. Providing Carrie or Captain Phillips don't have an overwhelming and unprecedented night of success this evening (20 October), then Gravity will quite easily continue to dominate the US box office.

In years gone by, Henry 'Razor' Sharp and Billy 'The Kid' McDonnen were at the top of their profession, they were two of the best boxers on the national circuit. Both Pittsburgh residents, the men met in the ring on a number of occasions and had equally beat one and other. The boxers were meant to meet for one final showdown fight in 1983, but 'The Kid' suddenly announced his retirement and cancelled the fight it made for an abrupt end to both the men's careers.

Now, thirty years after the fight that never was, the men are once again put face to face and their initial meeting does not make for a happy reunion. A pathertic attempt at a war of words soon escalates into a full on brawl, the video of which instantly becomes a viral sensation.

Seeing an opportunity to cash in, boxing promoter Dante Slate Jr arranges for the two former local heroes to meet in the ring once again. Harrison Ford Joins 'Expendables 3,' As Sly Brands Willis 'Greedy And Lazy'

Three things of note regarding The Expendables 3: Harrison Ford has joined the cast, Bruce Willis has left the cast, and Sylvester Stallone really hates Bruce's work ethic.

The whole thing kicked off late on Tuesday (August 8, 2013) when Sylvester Stallone - who stars in and wrote the screenplay for the third movie - tweeted, "WILLIS OUT. HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!"

Sure, it was a pretty blunt casting announcement, though maybe Willis was busy with another of the Die Hard movies or something? NOPE.

It's Go Go Go For Rocky Spin-Off: 'Creed' - Time To Get Excited?

The movie is beginning to take shape. First off, MGM have given it the green light; that means the money is there to be spent. Secondly, we have a plot skeleton: the movie will focus on the grandson of Rocky’s nemesis-cum-allay Apollo Creed, who was portrayed by Carl Weathers in the first four ‘Rocky’ films. Deadline had the scoop on all this.

It seems that for the past seven years, the Rocky franchise has been down, but not out. Now its revival has been handed over to the more than capable team of director Ryan Coogler and star Michael B. Is 'The Counselor' Set For The Oscars? [Trailer]

Ridley Scott Brad Pitt Penelope Cruz Cameron Diaz Javier Bardem Michael Fassbender Sylvester Stallone Robert De Niro

The trailer for Ridley Scott's upcoming gritty thriller The Counselor dropped yesterday, after the initial teaser was circulated in cryptic Russian. With a November release date, there's certainly enough time to build up anticipation for the film, which is written by No Country For Old Men screenwriter, Cormac McCarthy.

Michael FassbenderMichael Fassbender Filming A Scene From The Counselor

There may be added logic to the late-2013 release date however: to give itself the best chances for 2014 Oscars consideration. The Counselor stars Michael Fassbender (Shame, Prometheus) who plays a lawyer who gets involved in cocaine trafficking and ends up in over his head with the wrong people. According to First Showing, Fassbender teams up in business with a rich acquaintance, played by Bardem, as Pitt's shady criminal character comes out of the shadows as things take a turn for the worst. In an incredible cast, Fassbender's co-stars include Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz and Cameron Diaz.Despite their cinematic fame and success, neither Scott nor Pitt have ever won an Oscar before, with Pitt apparently resigning himself to never winning, having said: "I don't play the Oscars game." November release dates tend to be awards friendly, due to being late enough to not be forgotten amongst the year's other cinematic releases but not too late as to have not made enough of an impression.

Bye Bye Bynes Case: The NYPD can probably kiss goodbye to its case against troubled star Amanda Bynes after it emerged they have little or no evidence that the television actress was taking drugs when arrested at her apartment last week. It still hasn't stopped her ranting on Twitter though.

Sylvester Stallone's Rocky The Musical To Make Broadway Debut

Sylvester Stallone

Rocky The Musical doesn’t sound like it should be a success, but it would appear that Sylvester Stallone has a pretty canny knack of getting the commercial best out of the long running franchise, and so it would appear true once again with news that the show will be gracing Broadway.

The production has already made its debut, having run in Hamburg over in Germany last year, but now it will be stepping up to arguably the biggest theatrical stage of them all with a run on Broadway. The show is expected to begin a stint at the Winter Garden Theatre from February next year, according to the BBC. The musical has been co-produced by Stallone himself, though he’s been aided by the slightly bizarre teaming of Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko, who both have production credits too. The Ukrainian heavyweight boxers hold all four major World heavyweight titles between and they were brought onto production largely to help train the actors in movement and positioning for their roles, in order to make the choreography as authentic as possible.

Of the Klitschko involvement Bill Taylor sad "This is not boxers doing a kick line," the managing director of co-producers Stage Entertainment USA adding. "It's stunning movement representing some of the sparring and the fighting. It's very, very cleverly created." The script has been written by Thomas Meehan, who can list the stage versions of The Producers and Hairspray to his credit.

Sylvester Stallone Announces Rocky The Musical's Broadway Debut

Sylvester Stallone

He’s pretty much exhausted the films, so where next can Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky franchise go? To the stage of course! Rocky The Musical has already made its debut in Hamburg, Germany, opening there last year; however it’s going to be arriving on the biggest theater stage of all from February as it graces Broadway.

The show will take place at the Winter Garden Theatre, according to the BBC. It’s been co-produced by Stallone himself, though also with the slightly bizarre teaming of Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko helping out on production credits too. In fairness to the Ukrainian heavyweight boxers (and holders of all four major World title belts between them) they were on hand largely to help train the actors in movement and positioning for their roles, in order to make the choreography as authentic as possible (which’ll instantly make it more authentic than any of the movies, which saw Stallone absorb so many head shots that by rights he should’ve gone the same way as Apollo Creed did in Rocky IV, long before even reaching the fourth film.)

Stallone Names Patrick Hughes As The Director For "The Expendables 3"

Sylvester Stallone Jason Statham Dolph Lundgren Wesley Snipes Jackie Chan

Australian director Patrick Hughes has been named by Sylvester Stallone to helm his newest writing endeavor, The Expendables 3. Nothing is official just yet though, as Hughes still has to win the approval of Millenium, the studio behind the Expendables franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hughes will be flying in shortly to meet with studio heads, but the director is pretty much a shoe in for the gig.

Hughes is a newbie in the director’s seat, with one feature film on his record – a critically acclaimed 2010 thriller, which starred Ryan Kwanten as a city police officer on a thrill ride of a first day in a small country town. So, while he might be lacking in experience, Hughes isn’t exactly a wild card and Stallone probably knows what to expect of his work. It will be interesting to see how he handles the fast-paced action genre, though. However, with a cast this packed with famous action men, The Expendables can probably be carried on acting alone.

A lot of the stars of the previous two films are expected to return for The Expendables 3, including Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren. Some rumored additions to the already star-studded cast include Wesley Snipes and Jackie Chan. Stallone is currently in the midst of penning the script, with shooting expected to commence sometime this summer.

Sylvester Stallone Is Back In Top Shape For Bullet To The Head

Sylvester Stallone Jason Momoa Sung Kang

Right on time to fit in with the trend of classic action men returning to the screen, Sylvester Stallone’s new film, Bullet to the Head, hit theatres this week.

It’s your typical serving of an action-packed, blood-soaked shoot-em-up, with (quite apropos) bullets flying towards everyone’s craniums, lots of fighting, lots of explosions, you know the drill. But apparently this one really packs a punch, not just literally. According to some reviews, this flick sees Stalone sharper and more on point than he has been in a his most recent offerings, and that includes both Expendables films. Despite starring opposite actors like Jason Momoa, who is more than three decades his junior, Stallone is certainly not letting up.

In the Warren Hill directed comic book adaptation, Stallone plays lone Louisiana hitman Jimmy Bobo, who forms an unlikely alliance with idealistic cop Taylor Kwon (Sung Kang, Fast Five) to hunt down some shady characters who double-crossed him. Sounds unlikely, unrealistic and frankly, just plain fun, plus, even after supporting the ban on assault rifles, Sly has to get his kicks somewhere right?

Sylvester Stallone Backs Tougher Gun Control

Sylvester Stallone

Known for his tough as nails, blazing glory performances in action films throughout the decades, Sylvester Stallone is one of the last people you'd expect to see backing gun control, but the actor went against typecast and advocated tougher control against firearms.

Currently promoting his new film, Bullet to the Head, the movie star recently addressed the ongoing debate of gun control in a press meeting last week, in which he called for the reintroduction of the 1994 Brady bill, which temporarily brought a ban on owning an assault rifle in the US. Stallone said: "I know people get (upset) and go, 'They're going to take away the assault weapon.'" Adding afterwards, "Who ... needs an assault weapon? Unless you're carrying out an assault ... You can't hunt with it ... Who's going to attack your house, a (expletive) army?"

The touchy subject of gun control has been at the forefront of American politics since Sandy Hook massacre, and Stallone is the latest big name to come forth and question the existing laws and call on Barack Obama to introduce tighter gun legislation. The 66-year-old actor also said that he also hopes there will be an additional focus on mental health to prevent future mass shootings. He said, "that's where we've dropped the ball: mental health. That to me is our biggest problem in the future, is insanity coupled with isolation."

'It's A Crapshoot': No Secret To Box Office Success, Says Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stallone’s a wily old feller these days, and he was more than happy to dispense some of his thoughts on what makes for a successful action movie in 2013, whilst standing on the red carpet for Bullet To The Head.

Sly stars in the adaptation of Alexis Nolent’s graphic novel as a hitman who teams up with a younger partner in order to uncover corruption in New Orleans. Stallone has recently seen his long-time friend Arnold Schwarzenegger’s big screen return in The Last Stand fail miserably at the box office, and when asked about what it took for success these days, he replied "It's really a crapshoot. If you're going to be the topliner, you better surround yourself with some interesting characters because no man is an island anymore. It's very, very risky."

Continuing chatting to MTV, the veteran said "It's really interesting how the audience has become so acutely aware of things and sensitive to it. They know when they're being put on, so you have to give them something either original or something old-fashioned that is interesting." What did that means for Bullet To The Head? "We've used about every weapon there is, couches, pillows, guns, bow and arrow. I thought 'axes,' " Stallone said. "It was a bad idea." He’ll get to see whether the public agrees after this weekend, with the film debuting in the US Box office today (February 1, 2013).

Hot Tickets! US Movie Releases: Nicholas Hoult Stars In Zom Com 'Warm Bodies,' Stellar Cast Can't Save 'Stand Up Guys,' Another Stallone Doozy In 'Bullet To The Head'

Nicholas Hoult Teresa Palmer John Malkovich Christopher Walken Al Pacino Alan Arkin Sylvester Stallone

We’re going to ease in to our round-up of this week’s movie releases, by starting with the ‘above average’ and moving gently down the quality scale, to the truly awful. We already know, by the fact that Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is riding high at the top of the box office, that there is literally no accounting for taste, so we will no longer try to influence your movie-going habits. We will simply present you with the facts and leave you to queue for your popcorn.

First up, Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer star in Warm Bodies, a zombie comedy that gets the laughs from Hoult’s slightly unusual zombie character who decides to save a living human, rather than chomp down on her arteries for a nice snack. Of course, that living human happens to be an attractive young female, in the form of Teresa Palmer (who, for the record, looks a lot like Kristen Stewart in this movie). John Malkovich also stars in this zom-com, which is a little bit ‘Shaun of the Dead,’ (pretending to be a zombie? Been there, done that) but looks like an entertaining way to pass a couple of hours.

Richard Roper of Chicago Sun-Times came up trumps with the most enthusiastic review so far, writing “I kinda love this movie. "Warm Bodies" is a well-paced, nicely directed, post-apocalyptic love story with a terrific sense of humor and the, um, guts to be unabashedly romantic and unapologetically optimistic.”

Is 'Bullet To The Head' Sylvester Stallone's Worst Movie EVER?

Sylvester Stallone Sung Kang

Ok so it's probably not a massive surprise to learn Sylvester Stallone's latest effort - the slightly inappropriately titled 'Bullet To The Head' - has taken a royal kicking from the critics. Based on the French graphic novel Du Plomb Dans La Tete, the movie tells the story of a New Orleans hitman (Stallone) and a Washington D.C cop (Sung Kang) who form an alliance to bring down the killers of their respective partners. It's pretty standard Stallone fare, though guess what? It'll do really, really well at the box-office this weekend.

The Telegraph's Tim Robey got the bad-reviews ball rolling, writing, "The real shock of Bullet to the Head isn't Stallone's reliable inability to speak, but Walter Hill's shoddy job in the director's chair. The editing is brutal in all the wrong ways, as if whole scenes were lopped out at the last minute." Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times appeared genuinely freaked out by the whole thing, "This is the kind of brainless action movie Sylvester Stallone would have starred in circa 1985. That it stars a Stallone who's closer to 70 than 60 is just ... weird," he said. It was left to USA Today's Scott Bowles to deliver the killer blow, musing, "[Its] sole redeeming quality is that it ends."

So is it really Sylvester Stallone's worst movie ever?

Secret Stallone Tapes Reveal Half-Sister Abuse Payout Was A 'Shakedown'

Sylvester Stallone

Secret Sylvester Stallone tapes, which formed part of a huge lawsuit against Sylvester Stallone in the 1980s, have been destroyed, New York Post reports. Stallone’s half-sister Toni-Ann Filiti alleged that Sly had “abused her” and a multi-million dollar settlement ensued, using tapes of Stallone’s alleged abuse as evidence in the case.

New York Post first broke the news and more details of the story seem to be emerging. Toni-Ann, who passed away in August last year reached a settlement with her half-brother in 1987 in which Stallone apparently agreed to pay her $2 million dollars, on top of $16,666.66 per month for life and $50 per year for medical and psychiatric bills. The money was awarded, it seems, for “personal injury, including physical injury.” Stallone “vigorously denied and continues to deny and dispute all claims of wrongdoing.”

Confidential documents claim that there were tapes in existence, documenting conversations between Sylvester and Toni-Ann. A memo addressed to Filiti, from her attorneys, reads “This is to acknowledge receipt from you of a total of six cassette tapes, four of which contain conversations between you and your older half-brother who we are referring to as S… You understand that in accordance with the terms of the settlement agreement between you and S., I and your father are required to destroy all tapes.” A source told NYPost that the tapes reinforced the notion that the court case was a ‘shakedown’ and claims that Filiti’s father threatened to disown her over the legal proceedings. Her son, Edd, aged 19 had no comment on the matter.

Secret Stallone Tapes: Sylvester Stallone Paid Sister To "Shut Her Up"

Sylvester Stallone Jackie Stallone

A remarkable story is unfolding regarding a set of secret Sylvester Stallone tapes that were destroyed and a big-money payout to cover up a harrowing story of abuse.

The New York Post initially reported the payout - $2 million plus $16,666.66 per month for life, and $50,000 a year for psychiatric and medical bills - was agreed with his half-sister, Toni-Ann Filiti, who alleged that the on-screen legend abused her.

Now, it would appear, according to confidential settlement documents, a set tapes, which allegedly contained conversations between Filiti - who passed away in August - and Stallone.

Photographers Squabble Over Sarah Shahi At 'Bullet To The Head' Premiere (Video)

Sylvester Stallone Sarah Shahi

Sarah Shahi was the star attraction at the New York premiere of Walter Hill's new action movie 'Bullet to the Head' this week. The American actress and former NFL Cheerleader looked stunning in a long-sleeved, lavender gown, and had photographers squabbling over her. Eager to get snap of the actress, the paparazzi are heard arguing, with one yelling "Come on guys!!!" This is followed by someone comically asking, "What's her name again?"

Though the Texas-born beauty stole the headlines, Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa was also a focus of the waiting press pack, though he looked slightly embarrassed with the attention and chewed on a toothpick. X-Men First Class star Zoe Kravitz turned up looking as cool and relaxed as ever, while Fast & Furious actor Sung Kang also walked the red-carpet. Of course it was the movie's lead star who turned last, once all the riff-raff had cleared - Sylvester Stallone making his entrance in a smart fitted suit.

Well Whaddaya Know! Fans Anger As Judge Dredd Comes Out As Gay

Judge Dredd Sylvester Stallone

Judge Dredd is seen locking lips with a man in a gay club in the latest issue of the legendary comic book, titled 'Closet'. It shows Dredd - played on the big-screen by Sylvester Stallone - reprimanding a Mohican-haired man before grabbing him passionately and going in for a kiss!

The closing caption, according to The Sun, reads, "I guess, somehow, I'd always known I was gay. I was just too scared to admit it." Since the teaser was released online, regular readers have reportedly bombarded the writers with abusive messages and threatened to burn their back-issues of the comic. The Dredd creators - who release their latest issue in full next Wednesday (February 1, 2013), said, "We have had quite an extreme reaction.Dredd has always been satirical, while touching on serious issues. This is another example of this." Writer Rob Williams defended the move, arguing that it shouldn't be a huge surprise, "You can't look at the original costume design of leather and chains and not see a fetishistic edge there." He's got a point. He's got a very good point. Why didn't we think of that before?

Dredd is the latest comic-book hero to come out of the closet, with DC officially confirming Alan Scott - the original Green Lantern - as homosexual last year. "He's very much the character he was. He's still the pinnacle of bravery and idealism. He's also gay," DC writer James Robinson told the New York Post at the time.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Hopes To Win Maria Back, "I Still Love Her"

Arnold Schwarzenegger Maria Shriver Sylvester Stallone

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been quoted in Germany's top-selling newspaper as saying he's still in love with estranged wife Maria Shriver and hopes for a reconciliation. Shriver filed for divorce in 2012 after 25 years of marriage, following Schwarzenegger's admission that he fathered a child with the family's long-time housekeeper.

The actor and former Governor of California - currently starring in The Last Stand - reportedly told the Bild newspaper that despite the separation, he spent Christmas with Shriver and their children. "We're not fighting any war: I still hope for reconciliation; I still love Maria." Despite his personal problems, it could be a busy few years for Arnie, who this week confirmed he would be appearing in Terminator 5. In a video web-chat with The Sun, Schwarzenegger said, "They're writing right now Terminator 5. There have been some writers on it for the last year-and-a-half and they could not pull it off. We have told them over and over that they are going in the wrong direction, now they've finally got rid of those writers and they've got new really quality writers. Now they're going in the right direction." The action-star famously played the cyborg assassin in the first two classic movies, before reprising the role in 2003. He sat out of the last instalment, 2009's Terminator Salvation with Christina Bale and Sam Worthington.

Before the new Terminator movie, Schwarzenegger has signed up to star in thriller The Tomb, with old pal Sylvester Stallone, Unknown Soldier, and Triplets - a sequel to his classic comedy Twins.

Meat Loaf Clint Eastwood Scott Baio Stacey Dash Sylvester Stallone Nicki Minaj

On Thursday night (Oct 25) during a rally for Mitt Romney held in Defiance, Ohio, Meat Loaf came like a bat out of Hell to announce himself as the latest high profile star to show their support for Romney at the upcoming US presidential elections, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The singer/actor opened up his pro-Romney statement by stating: "There has storm clouds come over the United States. There is thunderstorms over Europe. There are hail storms -- and I mean major hail storms -- in the Middle East. There are storms brewing through China, through Asia, through everywhere."

He followed up his broken-English plagued weather report with a few big ups for the Presidential hopeful, before wailing out some bars of 'America the Beautiful.' It still doesn't top Clint Eastwood talking to an empty chair for an unprecedented amount of time though.

Brigitte Nielsen And Arnold Schwarzenegger Affair Confirmed In New Memoir

Brigitte Nielsen Arnold Schwarzenegger Sylvester Stallone

Brigitte Nielsen definitely had an affair with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1980s, it's been confirmed. The actress, who for a short time was married to Schwarzenegger's The Expendables 2 co-star and fellow action hero icon Sylvester Stallone in the mid-1980s, had mentioned that the two had had an "outrageous affair" in a memoir published last year. The two supposedly hit it off whilst they were both on the set of the film Red Sonja, with Schwarzenegger going out with his future wife Maria Shriver.

Dredd 3D Round-Up: Not Everyone Dreads The Judge

Judge Dredd Sylvester Stallone Karl Urban Olivia Thirlby Lena Headey

Judge Dredd is back! Not literally, but back in cinemas at least after nearly 20 years since Sylvester Stallone graced the screen with his portrayal of the futuristic super cop. The reboot of the franchise (now in 3D!) follows Dredd, who still serves as judge, jury and executioner, as he and a trainee cop team up against a sizeable chunk of the criminal world in a bid to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO. A heavily covered up Karl Urban takes on the lead role with Olivia Thirlby as his young sidekick and Lena Headey as the overseer of a huge criminal empire.

The film currently lies with a 77% ‘Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes and so far has proved to be a surprise hit with some critics, whilst others have been a little less forgiving to the ultra-violent depiction of the future. Both the New York Times and Los Angeles Times have given the film a thorough drubbing, both stating that the film is chock full of lousy ideas and “disposable character” as well as “clunk-headed action.”

However not all have been so harsh, with the majority of reviews applauding the visuals and the gritty style the film was made in. One reviewer for the Daily Telegraph summed the film up well and frank enough, saying, “It's really quite good.” The film is in cinemas now.
