Suze Orman, the American television personality, financial advisor and motivational speaker, has landed her own show on Oprah Winfrey's new cable channel 'OWN', reports the New York Times. The network started up last weekend, and a spokesman confirmed yesterday (6th January 2011) that Orman's show is expected to premiere in the fall.
The 59-year-old will host 'Money Class', a prime-time schedule show offering advice to people experiencing financial difficulties. During each episode, Orman will visit families and individuals in their homes and attempt to set financial goals. According to some reports, the announcement of 'Money Class' could signal the end of the host's current weekend call-in program 'The SUZE ORMAN Show' which goes out on CNBC, however, a network spokesperson reiterated that she is still "under contract". In 2004 and 2006, Orman won two daytime Emmy Awards in the category of 'Outstanding Service Show Host' and throughout her career she has amassed a record six GRACIE AWARDS.
Oprah's network, which replaced the 'Discovery Health Channel' on 1st January 2011, currently features shows such as 'Dr Phil', 'The Gayle King Show', and 'Enough Already! With Peter Walsh'.
