Rumours have recently emerged that Suge Knight has finally opened up about who he believed was responsible for the killing of his friend Tupac Shakur in 1996, apparently blaming both his ex-wife Sharitha and Death Row Records security chief Reggie White Jr.

The claims were allegedly inspired by the forthcoming documentary 'Tupac Assassination: Battle for Compton' and also suggested that Suge believed he was the intended target of the shooting. He is thought to have opened up after the shock of discovering that the filmmakers got the theory right.

The Daily Mail cited an affidavit from Suge's attorney Thaddeus Culpepper, which they claim was taken by ex detective Russell Poole in 2015. 'Knight has known for many years that Reggie Wright Jr. and his ex-wife Sharitha were behind the murder of Tupac and attempted murder of Knight', Culpepper is alleged to have said in the statement.

However, Culpepper has since branded the report as 'fake news', insisting that he never made such a statement to police or anyone else. 'As counsel for Mr. Knight, my duty is to assist him in proving his innocence in his present cases', he told The Wrap. 'I have never made any official statement regarding Tupac Shakur, nor have I made any statements on my client's behalf regarding Mr. Shakur, written or otherwise," the statement continued. "Articles relying on this unattributed press release are without merit.'

Tupac was shot four times in his car while leaving a Mike Tyson fight in Las Vegas on September 7th 1996. He died in hospital less than a week later. Meanwhile, Suge Knight is currently in prison under charges of an attempted murder of his own.

The story is that he ran down two businessmen that he knew named Terry Carter and 'Bone' Sloan in his car in 2015, leaving the former dead. They had reportedly been arguing on the set of 'Straight Outta Compton'. Suge denies the allegations, claiming that the collision was an accident, though he was apparently forced to miss a court hearing recently due to complications regarding his various blood clots.
