Kevin Spacey's publicist has denied reports the actor skipped the annual Vanity Fair party after Sunday's (02Mar14) Academy Awards due to Gwyneth Paltrow's feud with the magazine's editor.
Reports in the New York press suggested a number of A-list stars boycotted the exclusive bash in support of Paltrow, who fell out with media mogul Graydon Carter last year (13) over his plans to publish an expose on her life.
Spacey was said to be one of the big names who deliberately avoided the bash, but a representative for the American Beauty star insists he did not go to any Oscars afterparties.
The publicist explains the actor wanted to attend the launch of Will Ferrell's cancer charity the following day (03Mar14), telling GossipCop.com, "He cares about the kids who have survived cancer, and that is the reason he did not attend any of the post-Oscar parties, not even the one that his producing partner threw for Captain Phillips, a film he is extremely proud to be a part of that was nominated for six Academy Awards.
"His sole priority that night after the show was to help the young students whose lives have been changed for the better through this charity."
Carter revealed in the March (14) issue of Vanity Fair that he and Paltrow made amends after she called him at his office to discuss her reaction to the planned article.
