Solange Knowles unveils her latest studio album 'A Seat at the Table' just three days after announcing it on Twitter. Fans are going wild for this 21-song venture, which she has reportedly been working on since at least 2013 with a host of collaborating artists and producers.

The album was released today (September 30th 2016) through Columbia Records and her own label Saint Records. It's a 21-song extravaganza featuring Lil Wayne, Sampha, Kelela, The Dream, BJ The Chicago Kid, Q-Tip, Kelly Rowland and Nia Andrews, and comes alongside a digital book of lyrics and a photo journal that can also be picked up from her website.

Solange Knowles has penned an essay on race and being a minority in predominately white spaces, after her recent experiences at a Kraftwerk gig. Knowles had previously tweeted about being told to “sit down” by a group of women during the concert, but the singer has now given a full account of the evening and how it made her feel.

Knowles wrote that while dancing she heard a group of women yelling “Sit down now, you need to sit down right now”, aggressively at her from the box behind. “You want to be considerate, however, they were not at all considerate with their tone, their choice of words, or the fact that you just walked in and seem to be enjoying yourself,” Knowles wrote.

Losing something as precious and sentimental as a wedding ring has got to be one of the worst feelings ever, but Beyonce's little sis Solange Knowles is putting on a brave face on as she listens out for news of her own missing ring, for which she has offered a reward if found.

She was taking part in a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans, as an honorary Muse in the all-female collective the Krewe of Muses. Bedecked in green and blue and wearing a crown of the same colours, the singer must've got a little too energetic during the celebrations because her precious wedding ring slipped off her finger into oblivion while sailing down St. Charles Avenue on Thursday (February 5th 2016).

Love is in the air for Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson, who just tied the knot this weekend in front of about a hundred of their closest friends and family, including – natch – Beyonce, Jay Z and little Blue Ivy.

It was a white wedding – literally – as the dress code was exclusively shades of white and cream with a few patterns thrown in here and there. The ceremony took place in a church in New Orleans and, as if things could get any more adorable, the bride and groom were spotted riding bycicles together ahead of the wedding. According to E! News, the wedding basically stretched over the entire weekend with the pre-wedding festivities kicking off on Friday. The couple eased into the wedding weekend, heading down to the Indywood Cinema to catch Mahogany starring Diana Ross. Bey was reportedly spotted heading into the theatre on her own. Because, you know, she does walk around alone sometimes, despite being married.

Solange Knowles is ready to move on from her infamous scuffle with Jay-Z in an elevator at the Standard Hotel in New York City.

It has been two months since security footage leaked online that showed the singer attempting to kick and punch the rapper when leaving a Met Gala after party on May 5th.

But when asked about the incident in the August issue of Lucky Magazine, which she features on the front cover of, Solange quickly played it down.

The internet is abuzz with reports that Beyoncé and Jay Z are preparing to divorce after the rumor that the R&B singer had been cheating on her rapper husband emerged in the wake of the now-infamous post-Met Gala elevator fight. Sources have indicated to Star Magazine that the 'Halo' singer and Julius de Boer, her bodyguard, have been having a long-term affair and that Jay Z's suspicions were alerted long ago. We must make it clear that Star magazine don't exactly have a glowing record of accurate exclusives. 

"Jay definitely thinks that there was and may still be something romantic going on between Bey and Julius," a source told the publication. "He wanted to fire Julius last February, but Beyoncé said, 'Julius isn't going anywhere.'"

"They've spent a lot of time together behind closed doors," the insider continued. "He's even stayed in her hotel room." Rumors of a secret relationship between Bey and Julius first arose back in 2009 when the pair were snapped leaving a hotel in Berlin. In the photo Beyoncé's mouth is strangely covered by her hand whilst Julius mouth is allegedly covered in red lipstick.

Cannes Panning: We'd love to say we were starting the round-up on a high with the Cannes Film Festival but unfortunately for new royal biopic Grace of Monaco, there is no good news to be found. The Nicole Kidman-starring true story dramatization has been almost universally crushed by Cannes critics who found the acting wooden, the script trite and the entire picture worse than the much-slated Diana pic. You can watch the trailer here though - it's worth it for the beautiful costumes and idyllic tax-haven setting.

Baldwin Busted: Alec Baldwin should probably sneak off to some meditation resort in the mountains for the next few months until this latest debacle blows over. The hot-headed actor and TV host, who is known for his many altercations with paps, had a run-in with police this week when he was caught riding his bicycle the wrong way down a busy New York street and flew into a rage when the cops asked to see his ID. Jay Z and Solange Knowles may already be waiting for the waves of the elevator story to settle down, but there are still plenty of people sounding off on it and keeping the drama alive. Case in point: Whoopi Goldberg, who stirred the pot on Tuesday by saying that any man has the right to hit a woman, if she hits first. Stepping on her soapbox on The View, Goldberg defended Jay Z by saying: “"I think Solange was quite ready for him to do whatever he was going to do. This is the thing: If anybody hits you, you have the right."

Whoopi preaches a simple philosophy.

That was enough to get viewers slightly on edge, but Goldberg didn’t stop there. She continued: "I know that many people are raised in a different way – but if a woman hits you, to me, you have the right to hit her back."

The Jay Z and Solange saga continues. Well, not really. There haven’t actually been any news on the subject since the infamous elevator video was leaked, but it did have some unfortunate consequences for the hotel employee, who leaked it. The Standard Hotel has reportedly investigated the matter and the responsible employee has been identified and laid off. However, the hotel would not reveal the name of the person responsible.

Solange and her brother-in-law were thought to be on good terms prior to the video.

The video was posted on TMZ on Monday and has since gone viral, with multiple sources speculating about the cause of the outburst. The names of Rihanna and designer Rachel Roy have been linked to the incident, with several sources hinting that the rapper may have been too chatty with a lady, other than his wife. None of this has been confirmed by official sources, however. Chances are, it’s nothing more than speculation. However, with Solange and Jay Z’s reps withholding comments for now, the real cause of the fight is anybody’s guess.

On Sunday May 4th Beyonce and Jay-Z attended the Met Ball together, putting on a loved-up display on the red carpet, complete with a comic moment where Jay-Z joke ‘proposed’ to Bey after picking up her runaway ring. Solange meanwhile went solo in a 3.1 Phillip Lim dress. Everything seemed peachy on the red carpet and inside the ball, Beyonce hung out with Solange and Lupita Nyong’o as seen in a picture uploaded to the singer’s Instagram. Bey also shared pictures of her self and Jay-Z seemingly having a great time inside the star studded gala.

Case in point: Jay Z and Solange Knowles’ less-than-graceful altercation after the Met Gala on May 5^th. Footage has just recently been released of Solange, entering an elevator with Jay Z and Beyonce after the Met Gala and proceeding to attack her brother-in-law. Because the recording, obtained by TMZ, doesn’t include audio, the reason for the scuffle remains unclear.

Saturday saw a huge dust storm rip through Coachella Valley on Saturday, but diehard fans stuck it out anyway for Muse’s headlining gig. Lee Thompson Young, the child star of Disney's hit show The Famous Jett Jackson among other shows, tragically passed away in the early hours of Monday (19 August) morning after apparently taking his own life. His death was confirmed later that day by The Wrap upon receiving a statement from Los Angeles police, with the site later confirming via a statement from his manager that the actor had taken his own life.

Lee Thompson Young has since been remembered fondly on sites like Twitter and FaceBook.

"It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning," Jonathan Baruch, Young's long-standing manager and friend said in a statement. "Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends at this difficult time."

Stevie Wonder will boycott the state of Florida due to its 'stand your ground' legislation. The singer was prompted to comment on the law following awareness of the legislation generated by the George Zimmerman trial, according to a report in the LA Times.

The soul sensation told a crowd in Quebec City, Canada that he would never perform in the state or any other which held firm to their "stand your ground" law. He told his audience ""I decided today that until the 'stand your ground' law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again". He went on to say "as a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world".

Solange Knowles wasn't with her father when he exchanged vows for a second time and neither was her sister, Beyonce Knowles, as the two apparently had prior engagements that made it impossible for them to attend the Houston, Texas, ceremony. Mathew Knowles, 61, married former model Gena Charmaine Avery, 48, on June 30 in front of family and friends, but not everyone of his family found time to see the CEO and president of Music World Entertainment re-marry.

"Unfortunately, Beyonce and Solange had previous engagements which made it impossible for them to attend," he said in a statement to US Weekly, failing to back up his statement with any explanation as to where they were. The two ladies have had a frosty relationship with their father since he split from their mother and his wife of 31 years, Tina Knowles, back in 2011. Beyonce also decided to part ways with Mathew as her manager, although at the time she said her decision was only motived in a business sense. Mathew had managed Destiny's Child from their very beginnings and continued to manage his daughter as she conquered the world as a solo artist.
