Simian Mobile Disco Clock EP

Spending much of 2007 supporting the likes of Klaxons and The Chemical Brothers, and releasing their debut album Attack Decay Sustain Release, you would be forgiven in thinking that maybe these guys are about to slow down. Yet James Ford and Jas Shaw that is the duo that make up Simian Mobile Disco have no intention of slowing down. They are set to release their new piece of material in the shape of the Clock EP.

The thing about these guys is that you know exactly what you are going to get. If you are a fan of the electro, rave, techno style music then you won't go to far wrong with these guys.

The new EP is equipped with four tunes that would get you on the dance floor that holds that certain eighties feel to it. The only problem with that is that the eighties should be left where it is "in the past" with the rest of the dodgy haircuts and awful fashion. To be fair the music in that era was not to bad, but we all like to look forward in new music and if we wanted to hear something from the eighties then we would go to one of those club nights.

Sadly although these are four competent tunes, nothing really jumps out and slaps you in the face like a stale fish. The guys just seem to miss that edge or even the pin ash that they held with the debut album. Saying that though it is only an EP and nowadays Ep's are normally just released to indulge artist's egos.
