Reformed rapper Shyne has been banned from entering the U.S. unless he visits the country in his role as a Goodwill Ambassador for his native Belize.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs' former protege was deported by American immigration officials in 2009 after serving over eight years in a New York prison for his part in a 1999 club shooting.
The hip-hop star, whose father is the Prime Minister of Belize, subsequently adopted the Jewish faith, changed his name from Jamal Michael Barrow to Moses Michael Levi and moved to Israel, where he filed a formal petition to become a permanent citizen earlier this year (11).
But his lifestyle change has had little affect on his U.S. immigration status and he is still not allowed into the country on his own terms.
He tells XxlMag.com, "I can come to the U.S. as a Diplomat because I’m a Goodwill Ambassador for my country Belize. My job is really to go around the world for Belize and get people to invest in the country and to promote the country."
