Scottish singer Sharleen Spiteri pulled out of a planned gig in London on Sunday (13Sep09), as her Texas bandmate ALISTAIR MCERLAINE fights for his life after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
Guitarist MCErlaine was taken to hospital after falling ill last Tuesday (08Sep09), and is now in a critical condition.
Spiteri is so devastated at the news, she pulled out of a guest appearance at BBC Radio 2's Abba tribute concert - Thank You For The Music: A Celebration Of The Music of Abba - in Hyde Park on Sunday.
Mamma Mia! actor Stellan Skarsgard told the 35,000-strong crowd that Spiteri had decided to axe her slot, and it was left to Brit singer Nerina Pallot to take to the stage to sing the Swedish stars' hit track SOS instead.
