All the things the 'Divergent' actress owns are in a single pull-along bag.
Shailene Woodley is quite the anomaly in the world of showbiz: not because her image isn't crafted but because she at least claims not to buy into the 'more, more, more' mentality of materialism like many of her peers. The actress, who is best known for her role in the recent teen series adaptation, Divergent, appeared on Thursday's episode of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! during which she discussed her unusual, if not refreshing, approach to life.

Kimmel marvelled at the 22 year-old's choice to confine her personal possessions to a single bag. "I think you're a very interesting person," he said.

The actress corrected the host, saying "I have some kitchen items that my grandma is using. But other than that, yeah, everything that I own and use is in a carry-on suitcase. I figure if I only own a few things and it gets lost, then I would get nothing."

When asked where she lives now that she has given her L.A. home to her grandmother, Shailene replied "Literally on friends' couches! I was only here in L.A. for two months, so when you're home you kind of want to soak up faces and places...And then I leave again.
"I was only home for 15 days last year and I got home and I was like, 'I don't want to be alone. I want to be with my friends and family,'" said Woodley. "So, I got rid of everything just so I could have one suitcase that would be easy to transport between houses and just kind of couch surf for a few months. But it's so refreshing and it takes so much stress away when you're like, 'Ugh, I only have one pair of jeans to wash.' It's so nice."

The Descendants star also admitted that whilst she has a laptop, she doesn't have an iPad and only recently started using a phone for press purposes. "I do have a phone right now because we've been doing so much press and they were like, 'Shai, we need to be able to get ahold of you, so here's a temporary phone and we've taped the number to the back of it so you won't forget it,'" she admitted, laughing. "It's kind of hilarious."
Shailene can be seen next in the novel adaptation The Fault In Our Stars, which will be released on the 6th June in the USA and the 19th June in the UK.
