Hip-hop mogul Sean Combs has confirmed his long-rumoured exit from Warner Music Group - their five-year deal will expire by the end of the month (Sep09).
The rapper's 2006 record Press Play was the only album he released during his exclusive deal with Warner Music Group/Atlantic Records - set to end in a matter of days.
His Bad Boy music label will remain in place at the company - but Combs admits he is looking forward to putting out new material as a solo artist through an as-yet-undisclosed venture.
He says, "Now that the term of the Warner deal has ended, I have elected to accept an opportunity to move my recording career and future label venture to another company."
A WMG spokesman and a Warner Bros. Records spokeswoman had no comment.
