Sean Combs has been named the world's highest paid celebrity this week with $130 million in takings over the last 12 months. He beats last year's higest earner Taylor Swift, who only came in at number 49 this year and a comparatively meagre $44 million.

Diddy landed the top spot on the list of the top 100 of the World's Highest-Paid Celebrities according to Forbes' latest calculations. It's an impressive feat given that he came in at only 22 last year with $62,000,000, so he's more than doubled last year's intake.

Sean Diddy Combs and longtime girlfriend Cassie have not split up, despite reports to the contrary. The couple were rumoured to have ended their relationship earlier this week, after reportedly getting into a heated argument which resulted in the police being called.

On Wednesday TMZ reported that police were called to the couple’s home after a “break-up” argument inside a car. The gossip site reported that Combs had left the car with his girlfriend’s phone after becoming “suspicious”, before returning it to her later that day.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is using his status as the world’s highest-earning rapper to give back to the community, announcing that he’ll be opening a charter school in Harlem, where he grew up.

A report by the Associated Press says that the new school, called Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School, will open in the autumn of this year. Florida-based educator Danita Jones will be its principal, while the project will be overseen by Dr. Steve Perry, the founder of a similar school in Hartford, Connecticut.

We hope there's no hard feelings! Dr Dre has overtaken Sean Combs AKA Puff Daddy (or is it P. Diddy, or Puffy, or Diddy?) to become hip hop’s richest man. The rapper has finalised a deal with Apple to sell his stake in Beats Electronics, which will give him a personal fortune of $800 million. Apple are allegedly purchasing Beats Electronics, which produce the popular Beats headphones, for $3.2 billion.

Rumors began circulating that hip-hop mogul P Diddy popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, and recording artist, Cassie Ventura all because of a photograph.

The 44 year-old shared a pic on his Instagram page of a huge diamond ring which many of his followers thought was an engagement ring.

"Baby do you like it? I just want to get you wat you Like ! I just wanna Mk you smile :) #takeDat. !," the photo's caption read.

When Kendrick Lamar spat fire on his guest spot for the Big Sean track 'Control,' his challenge to today's hip-hop heavy-weights to up their game and try and keep up with him was taken the wrong way by a chunk of the rap community, including a number of those he called out on the track. Speaking for the first time about the controversy surrounding his verse, the Compton rapper has reiterated that he meant no disrespect to anyone, noting that he may have to tone down his complex lyrics in future.

The Top Dawg Entertainment star was speaking with radio DJ Peter Rosenberg on his Hot 97 radio show on Thursday (29 August) morning to address the unwarranted controversy surrounding the song, saying that his lyrics had been taken out of context by those who took offence. He commented, "It made me go back here and made me feel that I probably need to dumb down my lyrics nowadays, for people to take it way out of context the way they did."

On Friday's (2 August) episode of Kris, Kris Jenner's daytime chat show, there was a very special surprise for Jenner and the audience watching at home because Kim Kardashian made a very special appearance on the show to discuss her new life as a mother and tell her own mother how much she digs the show. Sean 'P Diddy' Combs was Kris' special gust on Friday's episode, and he brought with him a great little treat indeed; a pre-recorded video message from Kim.

Anyway, in her video appearance Kim told her mother how much she loves the show, saying; "Hi mom, I just want to say congratulations on your new show. I'm sorry I couldn't be there in person, but I'm just loving life a little bit too much at home right now."

It's a question that's been on our minds all week. Is Kate Upton dating Dancing with the Stars professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy? The duo were apparently spotted enjoying each other's company at Scalinatella in New York City this week, though management at the Upper East Side eatery debunked reports of a relationship and told E! news that their dinner "did not look intimate at all."

Meanwhile, a source told E! News that the two "are just good friends" while a second source close to Maksim said they've "heard nothing about them dating." Anyhow, the restaurant in New York couldn't even confirm that it was the dancer with the buxom Vogue cover model though did note that the two dinner guests appeared "just friends."

Upton - now one of the world's most popular models - has remained mum on her dating life in recent years, though vehemently denied she was dating Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander during a Fox News interview back in February. Past reports have linked Kate to Sean 'P Diddy' Combs, Kanye West, football ace Mark Sanchez and even Never Back Down actor Sean Faris.

It's good to have friends in high places, and for French Montana this was the case when it came to securing the guest spots on his upcoming debut album Excuse My French, with the rapper revealing that all but one person was willing to feature on the album for nothing. Rapper Max B, who is currently serving a prison sentence, was the only one who deemed his services to be worth paying for, with the long list of other famous rap names showing up as a favour to the Bronx rapper.

French, who has Moroccan ancestry, was speaking on MTV's RapFix Live when he gave wind of the generosity of his album features, saying that only one of the twenty three guest vocals sent him a bill for their services. His long-time friend Max B, who is currently serving a 75-year sentence in prison, was the only one to ask to be paid for his appearance on the opening track on the album, with French telling RapFix, "The only person I paid was Max B. That's about it."
