Migos' Management Deny Story About Refusing To Appear On 'SNL' With Drag Queens

Katy Perry Saturday Night Live

The management team for hip-hop sensations Migos have denied a story suggesting the rappers refused to perform on-stage with drag queens when they appeared with Katy Perry on ‘Saturday Night Live’ last weekend.

Perry performed her new track ‘Swish Swish’ accompanied by drag queens as back-up dancers when she was on ‘SNL’ last Saturday (May 20th). She also did a rendition of ‘Bon Appetit’, her collaboration with the ‘Bad and Boujee’ rappers Migos, but this time round there were far fewer of the drag queens present on the stage, and those that were only seemed to dance on the very periphery of the stage.

Dwayne Johnson And Tom Hanks Run For Office In 'SNL' Skit

Dwayne Johnson Tom Hanks Saturday Night Live

Dwayne Johnson for President? That sounds like a good idea considering what politics is at the moment. The actor joked about running for office while hosting 'Saturday Night Live' for the fifth time last week, and even brought along Tom Hanks as his 'running mate'.

It was the 'Baywatch' star's fifth time hosting 'Saturday Night Live' which meant that Alec Baldwin had the pleasure of introducing him into the 5-timers club (they have jackets!). While talking about Alec's infamous portrayal of Donald Trump, Dwayne opened up about his future plans.

'Saturday Night Live' Sees Chris Pine Explain That He Is A 'Different Chris'

Chris Pine Saturday Night Live

We're glad to discover that we're not the only ones who get confused with the four Chrises of Hollywood, because Chris Pine took to 'Saturday Night Live' to explain the differences between himself, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth once and for all.

The 'Star Trek' star is getting well and truly tired of people thinking he is in movies that he isn't, just because he shares his first name with some other Hollywood superstars with similar features and ages. He decided to use his stint as host on this weekend's 'Saturday Night Live' (May 6th 2017) to address the issue.

Scarlett Johansson Plays Ivanka Trump In 'Complicit' Saturday Night Live Sketch

Saturday Night Live Scarlett Johansson Ivanka Trump

As much as there are people out there who want to render Donald Trump's wife and daughters as blameless in his unpopular regime, 'Saturday Night Live' have attacked Ivanka Trump with a sketch by Scarlett Johansson alleging that she is 'complicit' in his actions.

Scarlett JohanssonScarlett Johansson does her best Ivanka Trump impression on SNL

Ivanka Trump has managed to avoid hitting headlines too much since her scorned father was elected President of the United States, save for that one airplace debacle back in December. Of course, her sister Tiffany managed to create a stir at New York Fashion Week, but Ivanka herself has rather stayed out of the spotlight.

Alec Baldwin Might Not Be Doing His Donald Trump Impressions On 'SNL' For Much Longer

Alec Baldwin Donald Trump Saturday Night Live

Alec Baldwin’s impersonations of Donald Trump on ‘SNL’ have hit the nail so precisely on the head that the new president himself has even criticised them on numerous occasions. However, the actor has hinted that he won’t be doing them for that much longer.

Baldwin’s impressions, along with those of Melissa McCarthy ripping it out of press secretary Sean Spicer, have coincided with a ratings boost for ‘Saturday Night Live’.

However, the 58 year old Hollywood star intimated to Extra in an interview on Monday (March 6th) that he’s strongly considering packing in his lampoons of the rage-tweeter-in-chief soon.

Melissa McCarthy Absolutely Nails Sean Spicer On 'Saturday Night Live'

Melissa McCarthy Saturday Night Live

Melissa McCarthy is the reigning Queen of the Internet after her spot-on impression of White House press secretary Sean Spicer on 'Saturday Night Live' last week. The crazy gum-chewing, aggressive shouting and extremely convincing wig have earned the comedienne over 10.5 million views online.

Melissa McCarthyMelissa McCarthy's impersonation of Sean Spicer is the best thing about SNL

She's best known for starring in the likes of 'Mike and Molly', 'Gilmore Girls' and 'Ghostbusters' but Melissa McCarthy truly outdid herself with her impersonation of Donald Trump's press aide Sean Spicer, who has been frequently mocked by the media ever since he made outrageously false claims about attendance at Trump's presidential inauguation in Washington D.C..

'Saturday Night Live' Suspends Writer Katie Rich For Mocking Barron Trump On Twitter

Saturday Night Live Donald Trump

Saturday Night Live’ has suspended one of its writers, Katie Rich, after she tweeted about the new president Donald Trump’s 10 year old son Barron, predicting he will be “this country’s first homeschool shooter”.

Rich, who was hired by NBC’s long-running satirical sketch show at the end of 2013, is believed to have suspended from her post indefinitely, in a decision the programme made shortly after the post she shared on Friday (January 20th), the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration, received a barrage of criticism.

Although she quickly deleted the post and subsequently hid all her social media accounts from public view, her name did not appear in the credits of last weekend’s edition of ‘SNL’.

She's not exactly known for her comedic qualities, but the 'Café Society' star is going to give it her all with her first hosting gig on 'Saturday Night Live' in February. She's always been staunchly dismissive of fame, having become the focus of media attention when she was a teenager for the 'Twilight' series, but recently she has admitted to feeling more 'uninhibited', and willing to put herself out there.

'Saturday Night Live' Sees Putin Calling Out Donald Trump On Inauguration Crowd Control

Saturday Night Live Donald Trump

'Saturday Night Live' took the opportunity to tear into new president Donald Trump following his official inauguration last week. It wasn't Alec Baldwin doing an impression of the politician that marked the highlight of the show this time, however, but Beck Bennett as Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Donald TrumpDonald Trump called out on 'SNL'

The comedian played a sexy, topless Putin trying to assure Americans that everything was going to be fine under Trump's leadership especially as he had now 'bought' America. He addressed Donald Trump as a 'friend', ribbing him about the inauguration and mocking his vastly over-exaggerated claim that over 1 million people showed up to the event.

Alec Baldwin Claps Back At Donald Trump After He Slated 'Saturday Night Live'

Donald Trump Alec Baldwin Saturday Night Live

Donald Trump confronted Alec Baldwin online about the comedian's portrayal of him on 'Saturday Night Live', after he returned to the second show since the election. Naturally, Baldwin clapped back with the most cutting response ever. We doubt 'SNL' are even going to try and go easy on him now.

Donald TrumpDonald Trump requests 'equal time' from SNL

The president-elect confessed that he saw 'Saturday Night Live' at the weekend, and blasted it for the 'biased' skits. He then had the nerve to request 'equal time', which means that broadcasters must present political candidates equal opportunities if they so request it. A fair request were the election not over.

'Saturday Night Live' Takes Surprisingly Subtle Stance On Donald Trump's Election

Saturday Night Live Donald Trump

The first episode of 'Saturday Night Live' since the election of Donald Trump was a surprise to all given the subtlety of their response to the situation, especially after weeks of satirising the Republican candidate. It was easy to assume that there would be some kind of uproar, but it seems the creators of the show were to shocked for that.

Donald TrumpDonald Trump isn't slated on 'Saturday Night Live'

This week saw a tribute to Leonard Cohen as well as the defeated Hillary Clinton, as Kate McKinnon performed a sensational piano rendition of 'Hallelujah'. There was a strangely serious tone to the 'sketch' through this hyperbolic depiction of Clinton's loss, and it ended with a not so funny remark but more a positive one: 'I'm not giving up and neither should you'.

Ben Stiller And Owen Wilson Turn Up As 'Zoolander' Characters On 'SNL'

Ben Stiller Owen Wilson Saturday Night Live

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson made a surprise appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ as their dim-witted characters from the Zoolander sequel, and gave their unique insights into the pressing political issues of the day.

The pair have reprised their roles as Derek Zoolander (Stiller) and Hansel (Wilson) for the long-awaited follow-up to the much loved 2001 original, which comes out on February 12th, and they came in character to visit the ‘SNL’ segment Weekend Update with Colin Jost and Michael Che on Saturday (February 6th), getting huge cheers as they made their way onstage.

However, their commentary on the presidential nomination races didn’t extend to much more than the candidates’ fashion senses, as they were asked about Ted Cruz, Bernie Sanders, Hilary Clinton and, of course, Donald Trump.

Saturday Night Live Is Typical, Moderately Funny, In Anniversary Special

Saturday Night Live Bradley Cooper Betty White Tina Fey

Saturday Night Live celebrated its 40th anniversary this past week. Congratulations! The verdict? It was good enough. Like many other SNL episodes, this one was a 50/50 deal - some of the jokes fell flat, while others got just a passing laugh. There were zingers, but we probably won't be recycling jokes Christopher Walken's "only perscription is more cowbell" in a couple of years.

Andy Samberg, Bill Hader, Fred Armisen
Happy 40th, Saturday Night Live!

Though re-visiting old sketches and characters was a welcome bit of nostalgia, of course.  Tina Fey's Sarah Palin, holding a flute and wondering when the talent portion of the show would begin was a highlight. In the end, more often than not, the show was funny.

After Boston Bombings Jokes, Chris Rock Supported By Fellow Comedians... And Nobody Else

Chris Rock Saturday Night Live

Chris Rock has never been one to shy away from shock humour and difficult topics, but his opening monologue on SNL last night might just make you squirm inside. Not only did the comedian address 9/11 (still a touchy subject,) but he also had a joke or two about... the Boston bombing. Yep, he went there.

Chris Rock
Chris Rock went there in an unforgettable SNL episode.

The initial bombs, which claimed the lives of three people and injured 268, exploded on April 15, 2013. Obviously, the impact is still fresh for many, so the comedian’s jokes were met with some backlash, to put it mildly.

Legendary Unseen SNL Announcer, Don Pardo, Dies At 96

Saturday Night Live

Radio presenters have something of a reputation for being glamorous, old school workaholics, continuing to perform way past the age of retirement until they shake off this mortal coil as their own manner of quitting. On this note, legendary Don Pardo, the unseen announcer of Saturday Night Live, died on Monday (18th) evening, at the age of 96.

Kanye West Teases New Material From Inside A Pyramid At Surprise NYC Show [Video]

Kanye West Ben Affleck Saturday Night Live

Earlier this week (May 15), Kanye West shocked and awed audiences at the Adult Swim's Upfront event at Roseland Ballroom in New York City when he took to the stage unnanouced and performed a selection of brand new songs. Oh yeah, and he did it all from inside a translucent pyramid. It is Kanye after all.

The rapper showed off two brand new songs, as well as the relatively new single 'Cold' and the classic, College Dropout anthem 'Jesus Walks' during the surprise set at the NYC event. Both tracks made it on to YouTube but have since been taken down. Because its Kanye, there was also a good few minutes dedicated to him ranting and raving about celebrity culture and his negative depiction in the tabloid as well as Saturday Night Live, on which the rapper will be serving as the musical guest on the final episode of the season this weekend (May 18). Fortunately, unlike his songs, the rant hasn't been taken down from YouTube.

Justin Timberlake Celebrates His Fifth Appearance On SNL With A Host Of Throw-Back Treats

Justin Timberlake Saturday Night Live

Justin Timberlake made his triumphant return to Saturday Night Live this weekend (9 March) in what was his fifth appearance on the hit comedy show. As JT entered the '5th Timers' club, he ascended into a selective group featuring an army of comedy legends - many of whom came out for the big night night.

In a sketch featuring many of the other '5 timers' from the show's history, Justin rubbed shoulders with Tom Hanks, Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Candice Bergen, Paul Simon, Candice Bergen and Dan Akroyd (who was only around to tend bar), before having the Three Amigos (Chase, Martin and Martin Short) themselves introduce Justin to the stage to perform his new single 'Mirrors'. Dressed in full Amigo attire, the trio of comedy all-stars gleefully ushered JT to the stage for one performance, with Justin also performing 'Suit and Tie' on the night. Whilst there were no comedy snippets for this performance, Jay Z did show up to deliver his verse.

Jeremy Renner Proves Tough Guys Can Be Funny During SNL Host Spot

Jeremy Renner Saturday Night Live Adam Levine

Jeremy Renner showed that he can shine where others have burnt out when the action star appeared on Saturday Night Live as last night's (Nov 17) host of the long-running comedy sketch show.

The Bourne Legacy star also had another ace up his sleeve when he showed us that not only can he do funny, and boy he can do funny, but he can even sing too! For the first skit of the show Renner discussed how he wishes that he could write and sing all the music for his films, before taking to a nearby piano and revealing one hell of a voice. To be honest, we're not sure if the first skit was even a skit at all, because that guy can sing!

Straight after that Renner and the SNL faithful sent up California natives, highlighting and lampooning all of their cliches a tee. Then, in something of a spin on the first sketch, Renner's next performance featured Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine flexing his acting muscles in a sketch that featured the two engaged in a never ending stalemate between two gun-toting gangsters. As Levine finally walks away from the awkward stand-off Renner then injected laughs once more by turning to the fellow stand-off participants he asked the: "Was that Adam Levine?"

Video - Lindsay Lohan Saturday Night Live After Party Arrivals

The Saturday Night Live after party was hosted by Lindsay Lohan, following her comeback appearance on the popular sketch show. Various cast members, including Kristen Wiig, made their way to the party; a few of them stopped to have their picture taken with their fans. The main attractions, though, were Dina Lohan, who stopped to chat with a young, starstruck fan; and Lindsay herself, who appeared to be in high spirits. She didn't stop for the photographers or fans, as she was quickly ushered into the building.

Lindsay hosted a recent episode (3rd March 2012) of Saturday Night Live, in which she joked about her recent troubles. The episode has since become the second most watched of the SNL season.

Nirvana Manager: Courtney Love Led To Band's Downfall

Nirvana Courtney Love Kurt Cobain Saturday Night Live

Danny Goldberg, former manager of Nirvana, has said Courtney Love was a toxic presence among the band.

Love married Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain in 1992, with the couple having a daughter, Frances Bean, before Cobain's suicide in 1994.

And according to Goldberg, Love had an instrumental role in Cobain's struggles with heroin and acted as the frontman's "mouthpiece".

"Courtney's very presence was a metaphor for the end of one era in the band's life and the beginning of another," he writes in his upcoming book Bumping Into Geniuses: My Life Inside the Rock And Roll Business.

Goldberg discusses an incident in which he delivered money to the couple, believing they were about to spend it on heroin.

"The weekend in January 1992 that Nirvana did Saturday Night Live for the first time was a turning point that put into focus the heroin problem that was to haunt Kurt for the rest of his life.

"Courtney called me at home the morning the show aired," Goldberg continues in an excerpt, reproduced at Spinner.com, "and asked me to get Kurt $5,000 (£2,800) in cash so they could do some 'shopping'.

"I felt pretty uncomfortable as I delivered the package of $100 (£56) bills to her [Love] at the hotel," he explains.

"Abruptly, the dark cloud of drug excess had entered the band's life. I was confronted by the baroque facade of lies and the awful glassy-eyed deadness that regular heroin use provides."

Bumping Into Geniuses: My Life Inside the Rock and Roll Business is released in the US on Thursday September 18th.
