The singer could be hitting the Austrian slopes in the new year
Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding has swapped a forgettable appearance on Coronation Street’s cobbles for what she is hoping to be an unforgettable appearance on the slopes. The singer has become the latest celebrity rumoured to sign up for Channel 4’s winter sports show, The Jump.
Could the singer be swooshing down the slopes in January?
Despite the line-up yet to be confirmed by Channel 4, this could be Sarah’s first return to TV screens after her disastrous attempt to woo Weatherfield.
Sarah appeared as Robert Preston’s estranged wife Joni during the summer but she failed to impress the viewers and her contract was not renewed.
The star could be starring alongside other potential sign-ups that have been rumoured to take part in this year’s series including Olympic runner Linford Christie.
Westlife’s Brian McFadden has also been tipped to get involved with another Olympian, gymnastic Beth Tweddle, also heavily suggested to be donning some skies.
Christie has been described as a "brilliant signing".
A source close to the show said of Christie: "He’s incredibly competitive and has an unbelievable will to win.
"But being a brilliant athlete doesn’t necessary mean he’ll be great on the slopes as it’s a completely different discipline."
The show will return in early 2016 and celebrities will follow in the footsteps of 2015’s champion Joey Essex to try to win the show.
