The video for 'Writing’s On The Wall' is finally here on Global James Bond Day.
The video for Sam Smith’s Spectre theme, ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ has finally dropped, giving 007 fans a look at some more footage from the upcoming film. Released to coincide with Global James Bond Day and the 53rd anniversary of first Bond film Dr. No, the video features Smith performing the song, intercut with scenes from Spectre.
The video for Sam Smith’s 'Writing's On The Wall’ has just dropped.
Directed by Luke Monaghan, the video is careful not to give away too much about the upcoming film. Smith is shown dressed in a sharp suit and singing the ballad in a variety of locations, including in an empty colosseum and in front of a row of coffins draped in Union Jacks.
But what everybody is really looking out for is any footage from Spectre which hasn't already featured in the trailer. The video contains many shots of Craig as 007 as well as Bond girls, Monica Bellucci and Léa Seydoux. There’s also plenty of panoramic shots of scenery and a slight hint of Christoph Waltz as villain Franz Oberhauser.
The song topped the UK charts this weekend, becoming the first Bond theme ever to reach number one. Speaking about the song’s success Smith said, "It’s been an unforgettable experience working with Barbara [Broccoli] and Sam [Mendes] to become part of this British legacy. I couldn’t have done this without my fans – this is a special moment I’ll never forget.”
Spectre hits UK cinemas on October 26th, before its worldwide release on November 6th. The film is Daniel Craig’s fourth outing as the secret agent and also rumoured to be his last. Directed by Sam Mendes (who helmed Skyfall) Spectre also stars Monica Bellucci, Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris and Dave Bautista.
