The Stay With Me musician has smashed the record for the most consecutive weeks in the U.K. albums top 10 chart for a debut with his disc In the Lonely Hour.

The record entered the top 10 in May, 2014 and dropped out last week (ends18Oct15), marking a 69-week run. It beats previous record holder Emeli Sande, who remained in the top 10 for 63 weeks with her debut Our Version of Events.

Sam has also received another certificate to celebrate becoming the first singer to achieve a number one with a James Bond theme tune for Writing's on the Wall, the soundtrack to Spectre.

"This is so amazing! It's such an honour to be recognised by Guinness World Records," Sam says. "It's been an unbelievable eighteen months - The album exceeded even my wildest dreams thanks to the incredible support of my fans, and to record the first ever Bond theme to reach No.1 in the UK is a real privilege."

He was presented with both certificates at RAK Studios in London last week (ends18Oct15).
