The organisation's executives claim Phantom's depiction of an armed aid worker for a fictitious organisation similar to their own could ruin the charity's international reputation and put workers in the firing line.

In the movie, Saif Ali Khan portrays a soldier pursuing Pakistani militants, who enlists the help of an aid worker, played by actress Katrina Kaif, who represents an organisation named Medicine International.

A statement released by Medecins sans Frontieres reads: "The character was shown holding a gun in the film's trailer, something an MSF staff member would never do... They (filmmakers) are blurring the lines between fact and fiction."

The film has already been banned in Pakistan following a complaint by Hafiz Saeed, the founder of a Pakistani militant group, who claims the movie's bad guy, Hariz Saeed, vilifies him.
