Ryan Seacrest has been hosting USA's favourite New Year's Eve television show since 2006.

The 39 year-old will be taking the helm of ABC's 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve' along with co-host Jenny McCarthy.

After 6 years of hosting, Seacrest certainly knows the importance of the one night a year show.

"In a world where people are on different pages all the time, this is the one moment where you feel like everybody's on the same page," he told Billboard.

The pair also told the music magazine what responsibilities their job entails and reveal how mph dedication it take to prepare for the event.

"Today we're up to talk to people on television early," Seacrest says.

"Then we're gonna go up to the top (of One Times Square) where the 77-foot flagpole is to actually make sure that the ball is there. This afternoon we run through the show -- where we're gonna be, where we're gonna stand, who's performing where, what stage they'll be on, the technical aspects of it."

"It's a good 15-hour day, but we will get cuddle time in," McCarthy jokes. "We'll spend two hours spooning, warming back up."

McCarthy and Seacrest also caught up with E!News and divulged in what to expect from the nights antics.

The 41 year-old actress is known for her outspoken manner, and when the gossip site asked if she will be on her best behaviour, Jenny replied, "We have Miley Cyrus on the show so in salute to women who do kind of crazy antics, why not be a little crazy this year."

Ryan added, "Insanity, craziness. Just give her a camera and a live mic and you definitely want to stick around and watch."

Miley Cyrus' performance is scheduled to be the last of 2014, before the ball drops, so it will undoubtedly be a spectacle not to miss.

But 2013 has seen the 21 year-olds wild antics and racy behaviour on several occasions, so will she still be able to shock the public?

The program begins at 8 p.m. on ABC.
