Ryan Reynolds has admitted he was left ''devastated'' when his close friend tried to sell pictures of his baby.
Ryan Reynolds' close friend tried to sell pictures of his baby.
The 'Deadpool' star - who welcomed daughter James with wife Blake Lively nine months ago - was ''devastated'' to find out that one of his pal's he'd known his entire life was going behind his back.
He said: ''A guy that I'd known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around.
''I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks... It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out.''
And the 38-year-old actor insists he hasn't spoke to the friend again since the ''shocking'' incident.
When asked why he thinks his former friend did it, he said: ''Just for money. I mean, I don't think he thought he would ever be caught. But it's a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to.
''They're just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: 'Here's us in the delivery room!'... It was, like, so kind of shocking. There isn't really a conversation to have. It's just, 'Oh, well, now I'm never going to see you or talk to you again, unfortunately.' That's kind of how it worked out.''
Despite the betrayal, Ryan isn't letting it ruin fatherhood for him, with the star admitting he always has a ''stupid grin'' on his face.
He told the October issue of GQ magazine: ''I have no problem waking up five times in the middle of the night and changing diapers, and as exhausted as you get, I have this stupid grin on my face all the time. And that's not because I have a nanny or something like that. It's just us right now, and I love it.''
