What will Maya and Riley meet next?
A third season of Disney Channel show 'Girl Meets World' has now been confirmed, which will see protagonists Riley Matthews and Maya Hart embark on more teenage adventures but this time in the mysterious world of high school.
'Girl Meets World' renewed for season 3
After an eventful journey through middle school, where Riley and Maya both learned a lot about relationships, identity and the importance of family as well as your standard education, the girls are taking things up a notch by transitioning to high school in the third season of 'Girl Meets World'.
The series, which is a spin-off of the popular coming-of-age sitcom 'Boy Meets World', has seen rave reviews across the board since the first season premiered in June 2014. Season two is still ongoing, and things are getting more and more tense between the characters - especially when it comes to their love lives.
Starring Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter, as well as Ben Savage from the original show, 'Girl Meets World' season three is expected to arrive on screens in the Spring 2016, with production beginning in January. There's no word yet on what to expect from the new series (after all, we're yet to discover just how the girls and their friends will leave their middle school lives) but we can be sure that it will be ever more exciting as they progress through their teen years.
'Michael Jacobs [creator] has one of the most authentic voices in television today', Disney Channel's Worldwide EVP of Programming Adam Bonnett told The Wrap. 'He and the entire 'Girl Meets World' team will not only continue to entertain families but also help kids discover who they are and who they want to be in this world.'
The next episode of 'Girl Meets World' season two - entitled 'Girl Meets the New Year' - is set to air on December 4th 2015.
