Blues guitarist and singer Gary Clark, Jr. has been added to the list of Rolling Stones special guests and will perform with the rockers onstage in Boston, Massachusetts on Wednesday night (12Jun13).

Mick Jagger has invited a string of stars to join him and his bandmates at dates on their 50 & Counting anniversary tour, which kicked off a month ago in Los Angeles, and so far Taylor Swift, Gwen Stefani, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow and Tom Waits have been among the musicians to give fans a thrill.

Arcade Fire's Win Butler joined the band onstage at a gig in Montreal, Canada on Sunday (09Jun13) and now it's Clark, Jr's turn.

The Texan has become a familiar face at Stones shows - he joined the band for a rendition of Freddie King's Going Down at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York in December (12) and he took to the stage with John Mayer at the group's Prudential Center gig in Newark, New Jersey days later.

Clark, Jr. also performed with Jagger at the the Red, White and Blues concert at the White House in Washington, D.C. in February, 2012.
