Gertrude Bell was a formidably intelligent British woman from the late 19th century whose travels through expansive deserts in the Middle East helped establish modern society in countries such as Iraq and Jordan, and importantly cast an enormous amount of respect on women everywhere. She didn't care for behaving like British society expected women to behave, and she proved that she could be just as skilled in the likes of cartography, archeology and politics and refused to be treated any differently than her male peers. Even when she was threatened and accused of being a spy, she never backed down and her resilience and care towards Arabic peoples have left their mark in history.

Charlie Hunnam has described his odd relationship on the set of 'The Lost City Of Z' with Robert Pattinson, who he "didn't say more than 10 words to off camera".
Having recently completed filming on 'The Lost City Of Z' with co-stars Sienna Miller, Robert Pattinson and Tom Holland, Charlie Hunnam has opened up about the way he and his fellow actors worked on the movie's set. Though his relationship with Miller seems the standard type of kinship actors share when they're working together, his time with Pattinson (and to some extent, Holland) was a little stranger.
Charlie Hunnam in 'The Lost City Of Z'
He said: "I had a couple of rehearsal sessions with Sienna, but I didn't spend any time with Tom or Robert. I wanted these relationships to evolve naturally on screen. Through the work, I don't think I said more than ten words to Robert [Pattinson] off camera.

Based on a true story, it's the historical aspect of these events that holds the attention, even though the filmmakers kind of let the drama slip through their fingers. It's an impressively designed film, with vivid characters and some rather amazing situations. But the script's structure is too fragmented to build the story's momentum.
It opens in 1906 London, where Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam) is assigned to accompany a geographical expedition to the jungles on the border of Bolivia and Brazil. While there accompanied by the intrepid Costin (Robert Pattinson), he discovers signs of a massive ancient city, which he names Z, the ultimate human achievement. Back in England, he reacquaints himself with his fiercely independent wife Nina (Sienna Miller) and plans a return trip with Costin and wealthy benefactor Murray (Angus Macfadyen) to find this lost pre-European civilisation. But Murray causes so many problems that they return empty-handed. The outbreak of the Great War delays Percy from going back to South America, so he heads off to the front to fight. Later, he organises a final expedition to find Z, accompanied by his now-adult son Jack (Tom Holland).
The screenplay has simplified Percy's attempts to find Z (he actually travelled to Brazil around 10 times). But the three trips depicted here begin to feel oddly repetitive, broken up by scenes of impatient domesticity in Britain. All of these sequences are sharply well shot and played, but the overall impact is lessened by all of the travelling back and forth. And many of the long sequences back in Europe feel like asides to the main story of Percy's all-consuming obsession with finding this ancient city, which we now know exists. Hunnam is terrific in the role, with his cut-glass accent and stiff upper lip even in the face of impending doom. He's likeable and passionate, and his scenes with the superb Miller sparkle. Patterson and Macfadyen add some texture as loyal and obnoxious colleagues, respectively. And Holland's quiet charisma very nearly steals the show.

Colonel Percy Fawcett is an ambitious British explorer who, come 1925, plans to take a long trip into the Amazon rainforest to uncover an ancient lost civilisation that he names 'Z'. He expects to find ruins and treasure, possibly even remnants from the legendary El Dorado, but it seems an impossible task to get the backing of the respected scientists of the day who can't possibly conceive that a civilisation perhaps more advanced than our own could exist amongst the native tribes they perceive as savages. His wife seems to be the only one who supports his mission, as well as his son Jack and another friend who agree to accompany him on the voyage. Unfortunately, this will be the trio's last trip, as they are subsequently never seen in England again.
The 26 year old star also discussed her decision to come out publicly last year.

In 1925, a British explorer named Colonel Percy Fawcett disappeared in the Amazon rainforest with his son Jack and one of Jack's friends. He was on the search for an ancient lost city he dubbed 'Z', rumoured to hold never before noted ruins and possibly the remains of El Dorado. He was also on the way to discover to another location in the Mato Grosso region of Brazil, which was talked of in an old manuscript he found at a library in Rio de Janeiro. However, whether or not his journey was completed remains unknown, because neither he not his companions returned from the expedition. To this day, his death remains a mystery. Many have claimed that he was killed by tribal natives in the region, others that they died after falling ill, and one story even claims he spent the rest of his days as the leader of a tribe of cannibals.

Stewart split from her ‘Twilight’ co-star in 2014 and she’s now dating former assistant Alicia Cargile.
Kristen Stewart has opened up about her relationship with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson, describing it as becoming like a “product”. The two actors began dating quietly in 2008, but by the time they split in 2014 they had become one of Hollywood’s most high profile couples, something which Stewart didn't enjoy.
Kristen Stewart says her relationship with Robert Pattinson “wasn’t real life anymore”
“People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product,” she told the New York Times’ Style magazine. "It wasn’t real life anymore. And that was gross to me.
Bold and intelligent, this dark drama is a challenging portrait of the making of an authoritarian dictator. A blending of fact and fiction, this award-winning film has a remarkably visual sensibility thanks to actor-turned-director Brady Corbet and his intense cast. It's a bit relentless in its murky atmosphere, but there are flashes of genius all the way through.
The story opens in 1918 Paris, where an American diplomat (Game of Thrones' Liam Cunningham) is knee-deep in negotiations that will lead to the Treaty of Versailles. His wife (The Artist's Berenice Bejo) and pre-teen son Prescott (Tom Sweet) are rattling around their country house waiting for him to come home, and there's also a loyal maid (Yolande Moreau) and an observant nanny (Stacy Martin). But Prescott is a handful, refusing to cut his hair and challenging everyone around him by throwing a series of epic tantrums. With his father busy with work, his mother is so lonely that she turns to family friend Charles (Robert Pattinson) for company. And it doesn't help that the maid indulges Prescott's every whim, leaving the nanny unable to control him.
Where all of this goes is elusive and complex, hinting at a variety of secret activities happening just out of reach. Since everything is depicted through Prescott's immature perspective, the film's plot feels suggestive and seemingly irrational, and yet there's a driving sense of logic to it as well. And by mixing in newsreel footage to root everything into this pivotal point of history, Corbet offers haunting echoes of the young lives of populist tyrants like Hitler and Mussolini (and maybe Donald Trump). All of this allows the cast to dig deeply into their roles, offering a glimpse beneath the surface at every step. At the centre, the remarkable young Sweet is fierce and also fragile, eerily likeable even as he behaves so monstrously. Meanwhile, Bejo's helpless sensitivity is cleverly contrasted with Cunningham's distance.

Stewart stars in 'Equals' with Nicholas Hoult about a futuristic society where emotions have been outlawed.
Kristen Stewart has been reminiscing about the experience of falling in love for the first time, describing it as an “intense, overwhelming” feeling. The 26-year-old was previously in a high-profile relationship with her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson which ended in 2014, two years after the actress was caught in an embrace with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

Following four Academy Award nominations, could 'Maps To The Stars' be the film which finally earns Julianne Moore her Oscar?
Julianne Moore is one of the greatest actresses never to have won an Oscar, even though she's been nominated four times and has a mantle full of SAG statuettes, Emmys, Golden Globes and critics' group awards.
Julianne Moore appears opposite Mia Wasikowska in 'Maps To The Stars'
But that could change this year with her Cannes-winning performance in David Cronenberg's Maps to the Stars, a viciously astute attack on the myth of the Hollywood dream. Even the critics who hated the film were mesmerised by Moore's performance as a middle-aged actress desperately clinging to her fame.

Robert Pattinson may be "homeless" but he still has the time to admire his close "friend" Katy Perry. However, as he is rumoured to be temporarily living with his ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart, how likely is an R-Patz-KP union?
Robet Pattinson is currently "homeless".
Perry went to great lengths last year to emphasise that she was simply supporting Pattinson through his split from Stewart. In an interview with Elle, she claimed the two were simply "friends". But, nearly a year on, things between the two could have changed significantly and recent reports would certainly suggest so.

Robert Pattinson has spoken out on the state of his relationship with ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart. Could a reunion be on the horizon?
Robert Pattinson has spoken out about Kristen Stewart for the first time since their very high profile split. The pair called it quits in 2013 months after it was revealed that Stewart had been having an affair with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director. The split came just before the final Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn Part II, was released, but fortunately they managed to briefly reunite while the film was being promoted. That’s lucky for Summit Entertainment, isn’t it?

Seems like this pair will never be shot of each other for long!
Robert Pattinson has yet again fuelled speculation over his relationship with ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart by suggesting that the two are still very much in contact. The 'Maps to the Stars' actor, who split from Kristen this time last year, has been linked to several women since the break-up but all roads seem to lead back to his former Twilight co-star.
The world's most publicised on-again, off-again pair, Rob and Kristen hooked up after having met on the set of the blockbuster before splitting up and getting back together again several times. Their biggest split came when Kristen was found to have cheated on Rob with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.
Despite the betrayal, it has been reported that the pair are still amicable and when asked by THR in a recent interview whether he and Stewart are still in contact, the actor was said to have "blithely" replied "Oh, yeah."
That stubborn rumour that Katy and R-Patz are more than just friends won't go away.

Robert Pattinson might be dating a new woman. Probably not, though.
This year, Robert Pattinson’s love life continues to be a hotter topic than his acting career – even when he himself denies having a love life to speak of. Recently, rumors have been pairing R.Patzz with London-based artist Nettie Wakefield. The two were reportedly seen out together on what looked suspiciously like a date.
Even after his Twilight peak, there's no shortage of people willing to date Pattinson.
“They were trying to keep a low profile but Rob teased Nettie by messing with her hair and they had a flirty play fight," a source told The Sun. "Afterwards they were giggling like teenagers.”

Robert Pattinson's new girlfriend, Kristen Stewart topless perfume ad. Does it ever stop?
Another chapter has emerged in the ongoing media obsession with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart – the real life Twilight couple embroiled in high-profile cheating scandals, breakups and secret meetings. Now, Stewart stars in a revealing new perfume ad while Pattinson is allegedly dating a British artist who painted a picture that he gifted to the actress. It’s all very confusing.
Kristen Stewart's perfume ad has raised a few eyebrows.
Various reports suggest Pattinson gave Stewart the painting with reconciliation in mind; the pair failed to reunite on the Isle of Wight on New Year's Eve. The commissioned painting brings Nettie Wakefield into the picture, who is rumoured to be more than dear friends with the British actor. According to The Sun, Pattinson visited several London pubs with Wakefield during the holiday period. And a source has given his-or-her version of events to the British paper.
When will the rumors end?
Could it be? Is there such a thing as a Halloween miracle? After months off the radar, today E!News reported that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson (yes, you read that right) might be rekindling their relationship. Well, “rekindling” might be going a bit far, but the pair were spotted together for the first time since their messy breakup in Summer 2012. According to E!News, they were spotted together in Los Angeles this Wednesday, but left when the paparazzi inevitably materialized – Pattinson driving off in his Jeep behind Stewart’s blue Toyota.
Even after Twilight, Stewart continues to be plagued by the paparazzi - and by rumours of an old relationship.
If their reaction wasn’t enough, an ever reliable anonymous “source” was quoted by the website as saying that the two were not, in fact “hooking up” whenever both happened to be in LA. Even so, the source claimed that yesterday was not, in fact, the first time that the two happened to be in the same place at the same time. The plot thickens.
One Direction Bumped Daniel Radcliffe as Britain's richest.
The five youthful members of One Direction are rich men – no surprises there. Apparently Harry, Liam, Louis, Zayn and Niall have made so much money over the course of their three years as an international pop sensation that they, as an entity, have topped Heat magazine’s list of richest British celebrities under 30. With combined earnings of £59 million, the pop heartthrobs left behind people like Daniel Radcliffe (for whom this is the first time off the throne since the list’s 2010 launch,) as well as music producer Calvin Harris, despite the DJ’s career blowing up over the past two years.

Radcliffe takes second place with £56.19 million, which is still quite a respectable figure. But the list wasn’t compiled based solely on monetary value. Neither K-Stew or R-Patz were at Sunday's award show, but Kristen apparently couldn't make it because of work commitments, not because she wanted to avoid any awkward moments with her ex.
Kristen Stewart would have had to get up out of her seat seven times if she attended the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (11 August), but it wasn't because of a reluctance to navigate around the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles that made K-Stew want to avoid the TCAs but something entirely different. This is the part where it is revealed that Kristen was scared to bump into her ex-hubby Robert Pattinson at the awards show, but it turns out that this wasn't the reason behind Stewart's decision to ditch the show either, as Kristen's heavy workload made it virtually impossible.

The twosome have been getting increasingly close since Rob split from Kristen three weeks ago.
R-Patz & K-Per; get used to that horrible abbreviation because it may become the latest A-list coupling to grace the tabloids, because Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry have been spending an increasing amount of time together lately, fuelling strong rumours that the two are in the beginning stages of a relationship. New reports regarding the burgeoning romance also state that the two have even spent time in each others company over night; so are they two Hollywood's next bright young couple?
Pattinson, the new face of Dior Homme, and Perry have been spending a considerable amount of time together since he split from his fellow Twilight star Kristen Stewart, with The Sun reporting that Perry had provided Rob with a shoulder to cry on during the split. The paper states that they became increasingly close and now it looks as though the pair might even have fallen for each other, going on to say the pair have been spending a number of days together at Perry's Los Angeles home.
Rob and Kristen's relationship was on and off for a few months after the actress cheated on him with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, with their relationship coming to an end at last three weeks ago. Rob clearly hasn't let the split get him down though, with the Twilight actor already getting pretty serious with Perry it seems. A few weeks ago the pair were spotted at a rehearsal wedding of two strangers and more recently they were seen at a Bjork concert in LA together, with the pair spotted leaving separately after the show.

The sighting over the weekend is likely to spark all manner of dating rumors between the pair.
Pattinson and Katy Perry spotted at wedding. Robert Pattinson, fresh from his apparent final break-up with Kristen Stewart, was off at a wedding with another women this weekend. The woman: Katy Perry; the wedding: some stranger's they decided to crash. Why? Because they're celebrities that's why.
According to People, the two were spotted at the wedding rehearsal at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California this Saturday (May 25). A guest at the pre-wedding spoke to People after the practice session for the unknown people, mentioning that the two just kind of sat down and didn't do much, just enjoy the formalities. The guest said, "Katy and Rob were just sitting next to each other watching the wedding rehearsal in the main courtyard area."
"They were dressed very casually. She was wearing a hoodie and big sunglasses. There was no PDA between them and no body language that showed they were dating. They just sat together and watched," the friend of the bride and groom went on to say, mentioning that no-one at the party had any clue as to why the A-listers had decided to check out their shindig. The insider also mentioned that the pair didn't really mingle, although a Tweet from another rehearsal reveller said that the two had come as part of a group.
Robert Pattinson hit the highway over the weekend with his belongings.
A gruff looking Robert Pattinson was spotted packing his belongings, including his two dogs Bear and Bernie, into a truck before leaving the Los Feliz home of Kristen Stewart on Sunday (May 19, 2013). His dogs were in the passenger seat of the truck while a huge suitcase was dumped on top of several trash bags covering a bed. The on-off couple reportedly split again this week after four years together. A source told HollywoodLife.com, "They are basically allowed to date other people and Kristen is super sad over the whole thing. She has absolutely no desire to date anyone and the thought of Rob possibly seeing other people has made her sick to her stomach. She's depressed and rightly so."
It's been a pretty rough year for Rob and Kristen, who split last summer at the actress' fling with director Rupert Sanders. The couple went through a breakup in the glare of the paparazzi's cameras and it appears the affair could be the reason for this latest breakup. "All this stuff came up. A lot of issues came up. [They argued] about the cheating, about how selfish she always is, about how moody she always is," an insider told Us Weekly.
Meanwhile, Robert was apparently looking "miserable" when spotted moving his belongings out of Kristen's home. A source told Life & Style, "[He was in there] for maybe 30 minutes. When he came out, the back of the truck was loaded with stuff. Suitcases, a bike, trash bags full of his things.[He] looked miserable ... He looked like a man who had just been kicked out."
Favorite Girl? Unfortunately, it was always on the cards. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez went their separate ways this week, owing to their hectic schedules. Kristen Stewart stole all the headlines after the Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere in Los Angeles this week, wearing a lacy floor length Zuhaur Murad gown that left little to the imagination. The designer is favoured by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, so it was a little odd to see the more casual Stewart in the blingy dress.
The actress has actually donned sheer dresses before, most recently at the Snow White and the Huntsman premiere where she was spotted getting a little too close to director Rupert Sanders. It emerged that the pair had been having an affair, leading to the end of her relationship with Robert Pattinson.

The stars of The Twilight Saga walked down the red carpet for a premiere of the franchise for the last ever time last night (November 12) and there was no surprise which two of the cast were taking center stage, with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson making a public reunion after promotional trails that have seen them take on different territories. The pair looked happy to be in each other's company, memories of their acrimonious summer seemingly all but forgotten as they lit up the red carpet in Los Angeles.
As big movies like Skyfall and Argo open in the USA and UK respectively, it's the smaller titles that are getting the most attention. Now the public gets a chance to see it.
In London, the stars turned out this week for the premiere of Gambit, a remake of the 1966 heist comedy. The film's stars Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz, Alan Rickman and Tom Courtenay were on hand both for the red carpet premiere and a meet-the-filmmakers event at London's Apple Store.

The movie traces the making of Psycho with Janet Leigh (Scarlett Johansson), Vera Miles (Jessica Biel) and Anthony Perkins (James D'Arcy). A new trailer makes it look like a lot of fun. And a probable awards contender too.

This much-adored vampire love story finally comes to a close in one of the most dramatic conclusions of fantasy fiction ever written. This final instalment is set to become a major box office hit with its release on November 16th 2012.

We were wondering how long it would be. Just days before the final Twilight movie hits cinemas, author Stephenie Meyer has refused to rule out writing more of the vampire-romance novels. It's likely that fans haven't seen the last of Bella and Edward yet, and we're not just talking about the rumoured television adaptation.
Speaking at a press junket for the new movie, Meyer was quoted by The Metro as saying, "I wouldn't say no absolutely (to more books). I'm not going to do it today, but I don't know how I'm going to feel in five years.I planned out where it would go for a couple more books... there are other characters who I think would have a lot of voice in those coming stories." However, the author did make it clear that she would not be tempted to hand the reins over to somebody else - in the same way that George Lucas sold LucasFilm to Disney - explaining, "I'm a hands-on mum and these characters feel like my kids. I just don't know if that's ever something I'd be fine with. But again, in 10 years, who knows." Last week it was announced that Lucas had sold his brainchild to Disney for a cool $4 billion, with the studio putting plans together to make further Star Wars movies. Meyer's comments come just a month after JK Rowling admitted to the BBC that she wouldn't rule out writing further Harry Potter novels.

According to TMZ, “Rob and Kristen rolled up to the Sayers Club in Hollywood in the same SUV . . . and sneaked into the back entrance to see the Purple One live in concert. A short time later, the couple rushed back into the car — trying to cover their faces — but it was too late . . . they'd been made.” During the show, "He was behind her – holding her around her hips," an onlooker told PEOPLE. "They were sweetly affectionate and tender. They stood the entire show and loved every second." Just in case any of you were struggling with the aforementioned question, the answer is increasingly looking like a big old yes, which a few months ago would have been a ridiculous thing to suggest, considering the high profile infidelities that seemingly ripped their young love to pieces.
The pair were probably just enjoying some quality time together after, like a naughty partnership at the back of the class, they were separated for promo duties for the Breaking Dawn. Robert was down under in Australia while Kiristen was putting in the hours in Japan. Life’s tough.

Kristen Stewart seems to have had her reputation saved by what will henceforth be known as ‘The Twilight Effect.’ Not long ago, K-Stew was considered the scourge of the movie world. It was discovered that she had cheated on fellow Twilight star Robert Pattinson, with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders and as a result, she was pretty much hung out to dry by the world’s media, not to mention Pattinson’s considerable fan base.
Recently, though, it has looked as though the couple have been reconciling their differences and even the staunchest of Pattinson’s fans seem to have resigned themselves to the fact that frankly, it’s better for everyone if they’re back together, otherwise that Twilight spell will be broken. So now, we have Kristen Stewart, smiling sweetly at fans during a Breaking Dawn Part Two photocall in Tokyo, Japan, looking like butter wouldn’t melt. It seems that The Twilight Effect can cure all ills… even the biggest Hollywood relationship scandal in recent memory.

The Sun were suggesting it earlier in the week, and now US Weekly seem pretty convinced too: Kristen Stewart has successfully managed to lure back her ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson in spite of admitting that she'd cheated on him with Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders just over two months ago.
A source had told The Sun midweek "They pretty much decided they couldn't live without each other. Kristen poured her heart out to Robert and told him it was a one-off and a mistake" adding that the pair had now moved into a secluded pad in Los Angeles together and that "Rob sees it as Kristen made a really stupid mistake. After a lot of long tearful talks, they've worked it out. Rob can see how truly sorry Kristen is and has totally forgiven her. They really do love each other."
Us Weekly have now backed these claims up, with a source telling them that the pair have had "a dramatic make-up", the British actor finally acquiescing to requests by Stewart for a meet-up, and that the two have had several since. Pattinson is still in love with Stewart apparently. All of which leads us to believe that the whole thing has been engineered simply as a way drum up promotion and attention on both stars ahead of the release of the final Twilight film. We'll let you decide on that though.
Well, well, well, dare we cynically point out that this was all some sort of diabolical marketing ploy? Reports from E! Online are suggesting that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been spending time together in secret, just a couple of months after the shocking revelations came out about Stewart having an affair with her Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.
At the time it looked like Pattinson and Stewart were over and that R-Patz was never going to be able to forgive Stewart, moving out of the house they shared in Los Angeles and as such fuelling rumours that he would be moving back to London. However, both of them have been making public appearances since, and both seem strangely unflustered by the whole thing, Stewart getting back to her beaming best after making a public apology to Pattinson. Pattinson's been doing a run of chat shows to promote films including the final Twilight movie Breaking Dawn - Part 2 and there doesn't seem to be too much stress for either.
There's no official word on whether the pair are back together, and their representatives haven't commented, but it's understood by E! that they are definitely talking and have even met up at a couple of different locations. Given that the entertainment media has been talking about almost nothing else over the summer other than their relationship status, this could be the biggest marketing coup for their forthcoming film.
