Veteran actor Robert Duvall's appearance in seminal movie Apocalypse Now has been voted the best cameo of all time.

The 72-year-old star won an OSCAR for his turn as LT COL BILL KILGORE in the 1979 Francis Ford Coppola epic.

And now pundits for British film magazine EMPIRE have rewarded THE GODFATHER star with the top accolade.

Runner up was Orson Welles for his appearance in The Third Man and third was Alec Baldwin for GLENGARRY, GLEN ROSS.
