Singer Rita Ora - who was last seen rocking the red carpet at the MTV EMAs in London in a bathing robe - has revealed she had her eggs frozen in her early 20s. Despite being just 26 years old, the Hot Right Now hitmaker said her doctors encouraged her to undergo the painful procedure to safeguard her future potential to have kids.

The treatment is similar to IVF and her family doctor told her to "strike with the iron is hot". Rita, who used to date DJ, Calvin Harris, revealed she would rather be safe and save them now.

Speaking to an Australian TV show, the star, who has recently been romantically linked to producer, Andrew Watt, spoke about her reasons for doing so.

She said: "Me being 27 soon, I thought about this when I was in my early 20s, about kids.

"Maybe that is me being a hypochondriac, but I have always wanted a big family and my doctor said to me, 'I think you should freeze your eggs when I was in my early 20s', that is what he said to me.

"He has been my family doctor for a long time and he said you are healthy is now and it would be great, why not put them away and then you never have to worry about it again?"

Further explaining her decision, she said she chose to strike while the iron was hot.
