Rihanna wants a role in the 'Scarface' remake.

The 24-year-old singer is desperate to be cast in Universal Pictures' reboot of the classic 1983 Al Pacino gangster film in the part of Elvira Hancock, who was originally played by Michelle Pfeiffer.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''Rihanna loves 'Scarface'. Some of her music videos have been based on Michelle's character, Elvira.

''She knows all the words and even has her walk perfected.''

The star has admitted to being a huge fan of the character in the past, saying Elvira has ''ridiculous swagger''.

The new 'Scarface' film will see the action updated to a modern day setting about drug-dealers.

Rihanna made her acting debut in action blockbuster 'Battleship' alongside Liam Neeson earlier this year.

She is also voicing the female lead in upcoming Dreamworks animation 'Happy Smekday' and will make a Cameo appearance in a new Seth Rogen comedy.

Rihanna has often expressed her interest in pursuing her acting career.

She recently commented: ''I didn't know if I would like it or be good at it. I really enjoyed the experience and I want to do more, try different types of roles so that I can see what I excel in most or like best.''
