How many Rihannas does it take to change a light bulb? Probably just one, but the question we really want to know the answer to is how much it will cost

Most of us were under the impression that switching on a light required little more than mobility and common sense, in fact I think most of us do it for free tens, if not hundreds of times a day. However, London's Stratford Westfield Centre disagree and are considering forking out £5m to ensure the job is done right. They have asked Rihanna to come to turn on their Christmas lights, and as a woman completely used to the spotlight, she'll certainly not be a phased by a few festive ones.

20,000 fans are expected to turn up to a mini-concert that she'll be obliged to give, should she accept the job and hefty pay check. Rihanna also switched on the Christmas lights at the Shepherds Bush Westfield Centre a couple of years ago. One source told the Sun: “Rihanna’s thrilled she has been asked again... She knows it’s a big deal and is totally up for it — if it fits in with her schedule.”

2012 has already been a great year for Rihanna with the release of her first feature film 'Battleship', plus the release of her second perfume, winning 'Best Female Solo Artist' at the Brits as well as her 6th studio album 'Unapologetic' to be released this November. It's not just Rihanna that's had a great year; “Westfield have had a great year due to the Olympics and want to fork out to celebrate.” So, it seems this would be a great, if brief, partnership in light.

“The Spice Girls were also discussed but Rihanna came out as the artist of choice.” A contract is yet to be signed, but it looks likely that we'll be able to see Rihanna turning on at least one set of Christmas lights in London this year.
