There’s a reason why MAC is consistently considered the most current and coolest cosmetics manufacturer. They regularly produce the most coveted seasonal shades, as well as limited edition celebrity and themed collections. We can’t wait for the MAC Maleficent collection which is due to hit stores sometime this month, and equally exciting, news has come through that MAC will be launching a The Simpsons collection to celebrate the animated show’s 25th anniversary.  As is with all MAC collections, the colour palette will be inspired by the theme, so we’re assuming a lot of yellow! Blue hair dye at the ready!

MAC have produced some fun and trendy collections in the past. Here are our five favourite MAC collections.

Barbie Loves MAC

Back in 2007 MAC launched their Barbie Loves MAC collection. Shimmering candy colours with names like “Sweet and Single,” “Real Doll,” and “Happening Gal” were among the stand out products in the collection.

MAC Venomous Villains

Designed with Disney villains in mind, the MAC Venomous Villains collection featured Dr Facilier from The Princess and The Frog, the Evil Queen from Snow White, 101 Dalmations’ Cruella De Vil and Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent. We can’t wait to see an entire collection dedicated to Maleficent, particularly Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent!

RiRi Hearts MAC

Perhaps one of MAC’s most popular ever lipsticks, RiRi Woo, comes from the RiRi Hearts MAC collection. Shocking reds, hot pinks and vibrant purples make up the Summer, Fall and Holiday RiRi Hearts MAC ranges.

Viva Glam Nicki

Rapper Nicki Minaj produced the bright pink Viva Glam Nicki lipstick, a pop colour shade that looks fantastic on her but isn’t quite so easy to pull off for everyone else. However, definitely one of MAC’s most memorable collaborations, if not for the whirlwind of bright colours that are associated with the promotion.  Most admirably, however, was the fact that every cent of the selling price was donated to the MAC AIDS fund.

Hello Kitty Colour Collection

Designed with everyone’s favourite white Japanese bobtail cat in mind, MAC launched their Hello Kitty Colour Collection in 2009. A wise move, Hello Kitty retail sales are generally over $5billion a year, we can see why MAC wanted a piece of that pie!

No other cosmetics manufacturer has that element of fun that MAC maintains.  People may shop their collections for the novelty, but ultimately the pieces have the high quality to back up the price tag.  We can't wait to see MAC's The Simpsons collection, what do you think that we can expect from it?
