Ricky Martin is following in the footsteps of Britney Spears and Celine Dion and taking up a Las Vegas residency as he starts his newly engaged life. The Living La Vida Loca singer announced he will take to sin city in April.

The singer explained that the long-term residency excites him because it provides a stable basis for his family - which includes his eight-year-old twin boys.
Speaking about his new gig, which will run until September, Martin said: "I’m just really excited to find this time where I can just be in one place.

"I heard at least 40 million people visit Vegas every year looking for shows and so I’m...going to be able to perform to all of these cultures in one place and at the same time my family will be stable and sitting in one city."
The star, 44 revealed his new engagement to Syrian-born artist Jwan Yosef on Ellen DeGeneres’ show last week but revealed that no wedding date had yet been set.

The Puerto-Rican singer is also hoping that his new solid workplace will allow him time to record new material - something he admitted he had not been able to do while on tour.
