| The latest offering from Richard Ashcroft is 'Check The Meaning' this is the first single to be taken his forthcoming 2nd solo album 'Human Conditions.' Surprisingly refreshing, the single has the usual meaningful heart wrenching lyrics we would expect from Mr Ashcroft but it's accompanied by a funky counter melody, good instrumental fills and backing from dark strings and soulful electric piano. The single restores belief in the true talent of the artist that hasn't been seen since 'Urban Hymns.' Let's hope the album lives up to expectations and Richard delivers a refreshing and surprising new sound but still incorporates the Richard Ashcroft style that we have all grown to love. | |
