The Whole Truth Trailer

Mike Lassiter finds himself being put on trial for the murder of his father. The Lassiter's are a rich family and Mike lives with his mother Loretta and father Boone. The body of Boone is found with a knife still in the fatal stab wound that killed him, Mike's fingerprints are on the weapon and when he is interviewed by the police he admits to stabbing his father.

With an incredible amount of evidence, the police arrest and charge the teenager with the murder of his father. Mike's mum, Loretta, recruits her attorney friend Richard Ramsay to defend her son and as Richard begins to develop his case more and more facts come to light about that night and Boone Lassiter.

It's uncovered that Boone is a vicious man who could be 'exceptionally cruel' and Mike witnessed events of abuse carried out on Loretta by his father - he'd even threaten his son. As the case proceeds, Richard asks another attorney to come on board and help keep Mike out of prison. Janelle is a young yet enthusiastic lawyer who believes that Mike is protecting his mother from the crime that she committed. It's possible either of the two family members could've killed Boone and what starts out to be a clean cut case for the prosecution soon becomes more convoluted.

'Bridget Jones's Baby' Enters Kicking And Screaming At The Top Of The UK Box Office

Renee Zellweger

Bridget Jones’s Baby was an extremely welcome new arrival in the British box offices this weekend, securing record figures for a romantic comedy – but it experienced a difficult labour in America, where it has underperformed despite a wide release.

The third instalment in the movie adaptations of Helen Fielding’s books, it secured an impressive £8.1 million in British cinemas over the weekend, which stands as a record opening weekend for Working Title productions, as well as for any romantic comedy.

The latest hit, starring Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth reprising their famous roles, comes 12 years after 2004’s Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason was released.

Bridget Jones’s Baby had a disappointing opening weekend at the US box office, taking just $8 million in North America and coming in third place in the charts. The third film in the Bridget Jones series had faired much better overseas, topping the charts in 24 countries.

Bridget Jones's Baby Review

Excellent

As it's been 12 years since the last Bridget Jones movie, expectations aren't too high for this sequel. So it's a very nice surprise that this film stands on its own as a charming and often very funny romantic comedy while rounding off the trilogy in style. The cast is terrific, and the script bristles with snappy dialogue and witty characters that lead the audience down an unpredictable route to a complicated happy ending.

On her 43rd birthday, Bridget (Renee Zellweger) is finally content with her single life. Although her romantic past continues to torment her, especially when she runs into former flame Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) at a funeral. With a corporate shake-up underway at the TV news programme she produces, presenter Miranda (Sara Solemani) suggests that Bridget needs some sex to liven up her life, whisking her off to a music festival. There she has a cute, hot encounter with the dishy Jack (Patrick Dempsey). And a week later, she rekindles her romance with Mark when she learns that his marriage has ended. So when she discovers that she's pregnant, Bridget hasn't a clue which man is the father.

This premise offers plenty of scope for both thematic meaning and awkward plot turns, and the screenplay merrily dives right into all of it, mixing some silly slapstick with darker emotions as director Sharon Maguire maintains a breezy-comical tone. This kind of balance is difficult to get right, but the film feels effortlessly engaging.

Renee Zellweger Says She Has Matured Along With Bridget Jones

Renee Zellweger Bridget Jones Diary

It's been 12 years since we last saw Bridget, and Zellweger feels like the break helped prepare her to revisit the character. "I have a different perspective now," she says. "I worked on the other side of things for awhile, so I understand it a little bit better. Yes, I'm definitely back, but different. Now my life comes first."

Renee Zellweger returns as Bridget Jones

This is why she's reluctant to open up to the media, especially amid criticism about her opinions or appearance. "I'm a private person, so it's difficult for me to talk to the whole world like we're all best friends," she says.

Renee Zellweger

It seems Renee Zellweger is more like her Bridget Jones character than you realise, despite the fact that she's a graceful American woman in real life rather a bumbling Londoner. Arriving at the US premiere for 'Bridget Jones's Baby' yesterday brought back memories from an embarrassing incident at the original movie's screening.

Zellweger hit the red carpet for the third film in the Bridget Jones movie series last night (September 12th 2016), but she couldn't help but be reminded of a 'very Bridget Jones moment' she had during the New York premiere of the first film, 'Bridget Jones's Diary', in 2001 at the Ziegfeld Theater.

Renee Zellweger Says She Doesn't Need Children "To Be Happy"

Renee Zellweger

Since she announced her return from a six-year career break to star in Bridget Jones’s Baby, Renee Zellweger has had to field a number of questions about plastic surgery rumours, ageing and whether or not she’ll have family – and has done so with pretty admirable patience.

In a recent interview she said that she had “craved” the process of acting and creativity that she had escaped back in 2010 when she went on a career hiatus. Just a few days later, she was asked by Extra magazine whether that “craving” extended toward eventually having a baby, like her character in the forthcoming movie.

Renee Zellweger Opens Up On Criticism Over Her 'Different' Image

Renee Zellweger

The public reacted with shock when Renee Zellweger appeared at the Elle Women In Hollywood Awards in 2014 looking remarkably different in her face. At the time she dismissed the furore as 'silly' and neither confirmed nor denied that she had had any facial reconstructive surgery. With her features still looking strangely different to her 'Bridget Jones' days, she addresses the subject once again.

Renee ZellwegerRenee Zellweger shrugs off criticism for her new look

The 46-year-old actress claimed that she remained oblivious to any kind of criticism of her physical appearance in an interview with 'Today' yesterday (March 26th 2016). 'It's not really part of my life. It's part of the job, that I don't really experience except when I step into this arena', she said. 'In my home I'm not aware of it. I don't do any kind of social media, so I don't see it. I like to have, I guess you would call them, real experiences.'

Me, Myself & Irene Review

Weak

If only Jim Carrey's uninhibited and completely unhinged, sweet-and-sour insanity was by itself enough to carry a movie, it might not matter so much that the plot of the Farrelly Brothers' "Me, Myself and Irene" is nothing but an undercooked on-the-run road movie.

Full of crooked cops and rich, double-crossing ex-boyfriends, it's a dim bulb script the boys had shelved ages ago and dusted off last year only after a couple post-"There's Something About Mary" projects fell through.

Sustained only by its outrageousness (breast milk gags, anyone?) and Carrey's hammy physical humor, the movie does have its fair share of laughs. But between guffaws there's nothing to keep the uneven "Irene" from collapsing under its own dead weight.
