Reese Witherspoon has landed a role in 'Home Again'.

The 40-year-old actress is set to star in the upcoming movie and has been cast as the separated mother-of-two in the production, which was initially set to be played by Rose Byrne, and is penned by Hallie Meyers-Shyer, who will also direct the project.

The forthcoming production will see Witherspoon relocate to Los Angeles, California, with her family in a bid to start afresh, although her life becomes more hectic when she befriends three young men.

Meanwhile, the blonde beauty is set to be the voice of a character in the forthcoming musical comedy 'Sing', which is set to hit the big screen in January.

And the Best Actress Oscar winner has also been working behind the scenes of 'Barbie and Ruth', which is based on Robin Gerber's book of the same name, and details the creator of the popular blonde haired doll Barbie, Ruth Handler and her husband Elliot - who worked for toy manufacturers Mattel - who created the design in 1959.

The story follows the couple's rise to success with the model and the inspiration behind their toy, which was their daughter Barbara.

'Barbie and Ruth' is set to hit the big screen in 2018.
