Returning with their first new material in four years, Radiohead drop a sensational new single entitled ‘If You Say The Word’ from their forthcoming re-issue album ‘KID A MNESIA’.
The song is a typically melancholy ambient number, very much in line with material from their previous number one records ‘KID A’ and ‘Amnesiac’ which they are celebrating with a 20th anniversary double re-release this Fall.
While ‘If You Say The Word’ is “new” in the sense that we haven’t heard it before, it’s part of a new album that comes with ‘KID A MNESIA’ entitled ‘Kid Amnesiae,’ which comprises previously unreleased material from the ‘KID A’ and ‘Amnesiac’ studio sessions. It’s technically a triple whammy, which ALSO includes a cassette tape of B-sides: ‘Kid Amnesiette’.
As well as an album release, Radiohead are also unveiling their 'KID A MNESIA Exhibition’ which they describe as an “upside-down digital/analogue universe” featuring original artwork and music in an explorative single-player experience the band have developed with Epic Games for PlayStation 5, MacOS and Windows.
Radiohead’s last album was 2016’s critically acclaimed ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’, including the epic singles ‘Burn the Witch’ and ‘Daydreaming’.
‘KID A MNESIA’ will be released on November 5th 2021 through XL Recordings.
