Quentin Tarantino's films make him feel "naked".
The 'Inglourious Basterds' director gets nervous when people watch his movies because the scripts are always "extremely personal".
He said: "If you know me and you read my scripts, I'm rather revealed. In fact, I'm very naked. All my movies are extremely personal."
Quentin, 46, is renowned for his ultra-violent films, but denies his blood-lust stems from an unhappy childhood.
He explained: "I didn't think my childhood was happy at the time but I think it was. The fact that I've always returned to a lot of things that I loved in my childhood for inspiration means that I was probably quite invigorated during that time."
Looking to the future, Quentin is planning both a baby and retirement in the next 15 years - even though he is currently single.
He said: "I will retire from films when I turn 60. It's a good age to stop making movies. I could start writing novels and film criticism and become a man of letter. And then I could finally have a family.
"There was a time, about five years ago when I did have baby fever. I really wanted to have a child. Now I still want to be a father but I don't have baby fever. Right now, I want the work to be the most important thing."
