The Purple Rain hitmaker took to Twitter.com on Thursday to share links to his track Stare, just one of a handful of his tunes available on the app.

It is not clear what's changed since Prince followed in the footsteps of Taylor Swift by requesting the removal of the majority of his work.

In early July (15), a message posted on his former page on the service read, "Prince's publisher has asked all streaming services to remove his catalogue. We have co-operated with the request, and hope to bring his music back as soon as possible."

The notoriously Internet-shy star has also removed his tracks from Apple Music and Rdio, but his songs reportedly remain on Tidal and Google Play Music All Access.
