Grandad's favourite cardigan!

Kirsty Meikle (Fleming) - Retired electrician Alex said, "The carpet and the couch have changed, but my cardigan was made to last."The carpet and the couch have changed, but my cardigan was made to last. I bought it in Orkney, in around 1976. I was working on the Flotta oil terminal and went over to Kirkwall for the day, and noticed quite a few of the locals were wearing variations of these cardigans. The shops had lots of different patterns and colours, but I liked this one. I remember it was quite expensive, but it was really warm. I still like the design and I wear it on the cold winter's days. When people see the two pictures they remark on the similarity between mum and daughter, but they can't help commenting on my cardigan too. I think Kirsty got a wee laugh." - Bo'ness, West Lothian, Scotland - Thursday 19th April 2012 (1 Picture)
