Singers Pepe Aguilar and Carlos Vives will be among the stars honoured at the Hispanic Heritage Awards in Washington, D.C. next month (Sep14).

Mexican crooner Aguilar and Colombian Vives will receive the Master of Arts award and Legend trophy, respectively.

Actress Zoe Saldana will also be among the celebrities feted at the ceremony - she is this year's recipient of the Vision Award.

Latino leaders in the worlds of science and technology, engineering and education are also set to be honoured.

The Hispanic Heritage Awards were launched in 1987 by the White House as a way to recognise Hispanic Heritage Month in the U.S.
