Pearl Jam will play a huge show at Wrigley Field, Chicago, on July 19, the legendary rock band confirmed on their Twitter page this morning. The group, fronted by Eddie Vedder - a lifelong Cubs fan - said, "IT'S OFFICIAL: Pearl Jam will be playing at Wrigley Field. Will you be there?"

Die-hard Pearl Jam fans appear to be in for a treat, with the band announcing there will no opening act. It seems the concert - titled An Evening With Pearl Jam - will be a career-spanning set of the band's greatest hits. In all honestly, the gig is just about the worst kept secret in Chicago, with neither Pearl Jam nor the Cubs being particularly subtle about the possibility of the iconic band playing Wrigley Field. On Tuesday afternoon (January 22, 2013), both tweeted pictures of the baseball field with a full concert set up. The Cubs later sent out a tweet that included 'Ten' - the name of Pearl Jam's classic debut album - and a "stay tuned" hashtag.

Tickets for the Wrigley Field show will go on sale on February 9, 2013, at 10.am, according to Live Nation. Fans should head to www.tickets.com or by calling 1-800-THE-CUBS. No tickets will be available at the baseball field's box office.

Pearl Jam have also announced a show on July 16, 2013, in London, Ontario.
