Paul Walker’s teenage daughter Meadow has found a fitting way to pay tribute to her late father, on what would have been his 42nd birthday. On Saturday (September 13th) the 16 year old announced that she was launching the Paul Walker Foundation, which will provide grants and scholarships to marine science students and researchers.

In an Instagram post on Saturday Meadow Walker wrote, ‘Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill.’

‘I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching The #PaulWalkerFoundation (@paulwalkerfdn) on his birthday. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my father. #DoGood.’

According to its website, the foundation, which will partner with the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society and marine biologist Michael Domeier, will fight to protect oceans and wildlife.

‘The Paul Walker Foundation will continue to do the work that Paul started,’ a statement on the website reads. ‘We are focused on his passions and dedicated to his legacy. He is always in our hearts and we are reminded daily to do good and live life like Paul.’

‘Paul's passion for the ocean, a curious mind and a spontaneous heart lives on in the Paul walker foundation.’ The actor who was know for his roles in the Fast and the Furious franchise died in a car crash in Los Angeles on November 30th 2013, he was just 40 years old.
