Grammy winner Paul Simon and his wife Edie Brickell have been going through some marital trouble lately. The two appeared in court on Monday to face domestic violence charges stemming from a dispute at their New Canaan home Saturday night. At the time, the two insisted that the fight was an isolated incident and that a protective order was not needed. In fact Brickell, a 47-year-old recording artist claimed that she had started the fight.

At 72, Paul Simon doesn't seem to have any trouble expressing himself.

“I got my feelings hurt and I picked a fight with my husband,” Edie Brickell said in a statement via the New York Daily News. “The police called it disorderly. Thank God it’s orderly now.”

Legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon has been arrested following an incident with his wife Edie Brickell at their home in New Canaan Connecticut. The 72-year-old and his wife - from the band New Bohemians - were both taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct after a heated domestic dispute.

According to NC Advertiser, police were called to the couple's house around 8pm on Sunday (April 27, 2014) though it's unclear why the two were fighting. Simon and Edie have been married for 22 years and have three children together.

Paul Simon and Sting are to go on a joint tour together early next year throughout North America, it has emerged. Eighteen live dates are scheduled from the 8th February 2014 through to the 16th March with additional dates expected to be announced, reports the NY Post.

The tour announcement may have come as a surprise to fans of either of the artists but it appears that the pair have been close friends for some time: since they lived in the same New York apartment block years ago. The two artists appeared together in May when they performed acoustic versions of 'The Boxer' and 'Field of Gold' at a benefit for the Robin Hood Foundation. The 72 year-old Simon and Garfunkel singer spoke of that set: "After we finished it we both looked at each other and said: 'Wow. That's pretty interesting.'"

Mick Jagger considered being a teacher, a politician and a journalist. 'Start Me Up' singer revealed his early career plans during a televised interview. Speaking on the Today programme, The Rolling Stones singer said a career as "a schoolteacher would have been very gratifying". Had the singer gone on to be a teacher he would have kept his families' tradition as both his father and grandfather were teachers.
