Paul Rudd has developed a new-found respect for ants since starring in Marvel's 'Ant-Man'.

The 46-year-old actor, who plays the central character in the new superhero film, has revealed the movie has caused him to be more considerate of the insects.

Speaking yesterday (07.07.15) at the Corinthia Hotel in London, he told BANG Showbiz: ''Not trying to sound cute or anything, but even last week, I was standing by the sink and some ants started walking towards the coffee maker as I was making coffee.

''Maybe in an earlier time I would have just given them a little flick ... now I absolutely let them do what they want to do and I stand back.''

Paul also revealed that as a child, he was a keen fan of the British comic books The Beano and The Dandy.

He shared: ''I had comics and I had some Marvel comics. But I was a casual reader. For a while I was kinda into the Hulk, primarily because of the television show, really. And so I read some of the superhero comics and some of the Marvel comics.

''I read more English comics, actually. My aunt and uncle would send me these comics from here called The Beano and Dandy - and I grew up with those characters. I was into, like, Rodger the Dodger more than the Marvel Comics.''
