Harry Styles SingingHarry Styles wrote over 19 songs for Midnight Memories - but how many for Four?

With that said, what do we know about Four so far? The band has been touring across the world for a good part of the year, but they still managed to find time to get in the studio and put together a record. They haven’t been writing music in secret, either. Back in March, Payne told The Sun that One Direction’s new music was going to be a “gamechanger.” “'I really think the next album is going to be a game-changer for us. I'm excited,” Payne said. For Styles, other than Grande’s track, his writing ventures have gone public as well - but not for 1D music. Styles linked up with songwriter John Legend to write a track for U.S. X Factor winners Alex and Sierra, and he also collaborated with Kodaline for a track that was allegedly for Styles’ solo music - but a label spokesperson debunked it and said it was to be a One Direction song. Despite writing for other artists, Styles has most likely written plenty for Four - it was revealed back in February that there were over 19 songs he had co-written that never made the Midnight Memories cut. Let’s hope things change this time around!

Another writer you can probably expect on Four is Ed Sheeran. In an interview back in June, Sheeran said that he may be included on Four after speaking with Simon Cowell. “There was some sort of political thing on the last record as to why I didn’t get asked and he was explaining that. He basically just said, ‘We need some songs’, so I’m seeing him next week,” he said in an interview with Digital Spy. After writing ‘Little Things,’ ‘Over Again,’ and ‘Moments,’ another Ed penned track in the 1D discography will be much desired. While we’ve still got a long ways to go to hear the new record and all its collabs in its entirety, ‘Fireproof’ is a hell of an introduction, and the excitement for Four has only begun.
