Noel Gallagher has come under fire from his rock contemporaries after he aimed a series of insults at fellow musicians last week (begs04Mar13).

British singer James Blunt has hit back at the former Oasis star after he confessed he sold his luxury home on the Spanish party island of Ibiza when the You're Beautiful hitmaker moved nearby.

In a post on Twitter.com, Blunt writes, "Ibiza's reputation seemed to improve dramatically the moment Noel Gallagher left."

Rockers Muse have also waded into the fray after Gallagher criticised the band's drummer, Dominic Howard, for smoking an electronic cigarette instead of a real one at the BRIT Awards last month (Feb13).

Frontman Matt Bellamy poked fun at the lyrics to Oasis track Live Forever and joked that Howard would be returning to real cigarettes after Gallagher's comments.

In a post on his official Twitter page, Bellamy writes, "Dom took Noel's lyrics 'I want to live I don't want to die', 'maybe I just want to breath' (sic), and 'you and I are gonna live... forever' literally. He's switching to real cigarettes based on Noel's apparent U-turn."
