MCCartney hit headlines last month (May15) when he urged Gallagher to end his feud with his singer brother Liam and get the rock group back together for the sake of the fans, saying, "My advice to them (the Gallaghers)... Just get together and make some good music... Like many brothers, they are crazy. But it would be nice if they got together."

Gallagher has now hit back at MCCartney and insisted the only way the former Beatles star could get the warring siblings back together would be to write them a hit song.

He tells Yahoo Music, "I did read that (what MCCartney said), yeah... Tell him if he writes our comeback single, it's on. Tell him to write an Oasis track and then we'll talk. I'll just put that out there."

Oasis split in 2009 following a major row between Liam and Noel backstage at a festival in France. The band broke apart and the brothers have been estranged ever since. Noel now performs solo as Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, while Liam's post-Oasis band Beady Eye split last year (14).
