Noel Gallagher has announced details of the follow-up to his debut solo album as well as confirming a UK tour for 2015. Gallagher will release new album Chasing Yesterday under the moniker Noel Gallagher & The High Flying Birds on March 2, 2015.

The details were announcing during a Facebook Q&A in London on Monday (October 13) and included confirmation of a UK arena tour covering London, Manchester, Glasgow, Nottingham and Belfast. 

"I've never been involved in two successful albums in a row. After 'Morning Glory?', we [Oasis] blew the one after that," Gallagher said.

The musician also confirmed that former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr performs on the closing track and second single from the record, 'You Know We Can't Go Back'.

"He's a very enthusiastic artist and I tried to get him to play on 'What A Life," Gallagher said. "He's a truly great guitarist and he has something that nobody else has. He's amazing, a top man."

Lead single 'In The Heat of the Moment' is available to listen to now and speaking about the song, the musician explained, "The first single was the last track to be recorded. It's called 'In The Heat Of The Moment'. Is it great? Of course it is. What does it mean, it doesn't mean anything."

During the Q&A, Gallagher was also asked about the possibility of playing Glastonbury next year.

"If I was asked, yeah," he said, "I was there all three days this year, I didn't see a single band. I watched it all on iPlayer when I got home. If you're listening Michael Eavis, I'll do it."
