The new album saw the former Oasis member team up with producer David Holmes, and 'Holy Mountain' was one of the tracks created early on in the process. It's a lively number with a prominent horn instrumental from none other than Paul Weller, and will definitely be one the band plays for years.

Gallagher Sibling Rivalry Passes To Next Generation As Liam's Son Slams Noel's Daughter

Liam Gallagher Noel Gallagher

The endless sibling feuding in the press between former Oasis stars Noel and Liam Gallagher has kept the media entertained for over twenty years.

Now the family rivalry looks set to continue with the bickering seemingly transmitted to their children, as Liam’s son Gene had a pop at Noel’s daughter Anais, saying that she looks like Noel in a wig.

Liam’s 16 year old son Gene took to Twitter to mock his cousin’s appearance, saying that she bears a resemblance to Noel with a “blonde wig”, after 17 year old Anais was snapped recently at the Tommy Hilfiger London Fashion Week with fellow celeb offspring Rafferty Law and Gabriel-Kane Day-Lewis.

One of the city's biggest music venues opened on Saturday (September 9th 2017) for the first time since it was the target of a suicide bomb attack back in May. Liam Gallagher Hints At Oasis Reunion For Manchester Arena Re-Opening

Oasis Liam Gallagher Noel Gallagher

Liam Gallagher just hinted at something that all Oasis fans have been desperate to hear for nearly a decade, suggesting that he might reconcile with his brother Noel to reunite the band for the re-opening of Manchester Arena next month.

The 21,000 capacity venue is due to re-open its doors in the coming weeks, with a star-studded benefit concert including Pixie Lott, Courteeners and Blossoms on September 9th to mark the official re-opening after the venue underwent refurbishment following the devastating terrorist attack back in May that claimed the lives of 22 fans at an Ariana Grande show.

Noel Gallagher’s solo project, The High Flying Birds, are topping the bill on the night, but Oasis fans quizzed his younger brother on why he wasn’t playing the show. The former Oasis frontman tweeted on Saturday (August 19th) that he could still appear at the gig - if he was asked.

Noel Gallagher To Headline Manchester Arena Re-Opening Charity Gig

Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher is to headline a benefit gig marking the re-opening of Manchester Arena next month, the venue which was devastated by a terrorist attack back in May.

50 year old Gallagher and his backing band the High Flying Birds will re-open the Arena on Saturday, September 9th after refurbishment work was carried out. Other big stars in the shape of Courteeners, Blossoms and Pixie Lott will be a part of a stellar bill titled We Are Manchester, which will raise funds for the same memorial fund as the benefit gig back on June 4th.

It will be the first gig at the Manchester Arena since the atrocity that occurred back on May 22nd, when a terrorist detonated a suicide vest in the foyer of the venue as fans left Ariana Grande’s concert, killing 22 and injuring scores more.

Steve Earle: Noel Gallagher Is 'most Overrated Songwriter Ever'

Noel Gallagher Steve Earle Damon Albarn Gorillaz Savages

Steve Earle has called Noel Gallagher ''the most overrated songwriter ever''.

The 'Copperheard Road' hitmaker has slammed the Oasis legend's lyrical ability and thinks his band rocketed to fame in the 1990s because they ''behaved badly'', but hailed fellow British musician Damon Albarn - who sang and penned tracks in rival group Blur - a ''real f**king songwriter''.

He told The Guardian newspaper: ''I dislike Man City because it is Oasis's club. Noel Gallagher is the most overrated songwriter in the whole history of pop music. They were perfect for the Brit press because they behaved badly and got all the attention. Blur were really great. That guy Damon Albarn is a real f**kin' songwriter.''

Noel Gallagher Quietly Donates 'Don't Look Back In Anger' Royalties To Manchester Fund

Noel Gallagher

Amid a barrage of abuse from his younger brother Liam having not showed up to the recent One Love Manchester charity concert, Noel Gallagher has quietly done the classy thing by quietly donating royalties from ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ to the benefit fund.

The 50 year old guitarist and singer has reportedly been diverting the royalties from the 1996 Oasis hit since Manchester locals began using the song as an anthem of unity in the aftermath of the suicide bombing that struck Ariana Grande’s concert at MEN Arena just over a fortnight ago.

A couple of days after the atrocity back on May 22nd, video footage taken at the vigils that took place in Manchester showed spontaneous renditions of ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ being sung by attendees.

Liam Gallagher has claimed that his older brother and former Oasis bandmate Noel has not invited him or any of his family, “not even his own mother”, to his upcoming 50th birthday party.

Noel Gallagher turns 50 year old on May 29th, and is believed to be throwing a ‘cocaine-themed’ party based around the hit Netflix series ‘Narcos’, of which the guitarist and former drug addict is reportedly a huge fan, according to The Sun.

Invites seen via his wife Sara McDonald’s Snapchat are mocked up in the style of the promotional posters for ‘Narcos’ and show Gallagher in the pose of drug baron Pablo Escobar, complete with the series’ strapline “There’s no business like blow business.”

Supersonic - Trailer and Clips

There were a number of defining bands of the 90's but Oasis were indisputably one of the biggest. Having formed in 1991, brothers Liam and Noel both had a great desire to be in the biggest band in the world, but the thought behind that was perhaps a little more basic; they wanted to make music. Though Noel was a relatively late member of Oasis, after he joined he became the main songwriter and the band focussed on recording the songs he'd previously written.

Touring the county with little money, the boys were offered a gig in Glasgow at King Tut's Wah Wah and made the journey from Manchester up to the Scottish town. Upon arrival, it was touch and go as to if the Mancunian's would even get to play but eventually they managed to get an opening slot for the night's proceedings  and they immediately caught the attention of Alan Mcgee who asked them to sign to his label there and then. McGee's deal with the band would come to fruition  some months later when he secured the UK rights to releasing the group's music.

By 1994 Oasis would have recorded a number of demos and they were finally ready to release their official debut single 'Supersonic' which would reach the dizzying heights of number 31 in the UK Singles Chart - which for a group yet to make names for themselves was actually pretty good!

10 Things The New Oasis Documentary Should Include

Oasis Liam Gallagher Noel Gallagher

Any Oasis fans who happened to see the powerful documentary film Amy earlier this year will have been delighted by the news that the team behind it is to make a piece about the Mancunian Britpop legends.

Asif Kapadia, who directed the Winehouse doc, is taking a production role on the as-yet-untitled project, with the rest of his team assisted director Mat Whitecross, himself having made the fictional Stone Roses-centred movie Spike Island and the Ian Dury biopic Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll.

With “unprecedented access” granted to the Oasis archives, we can hope for a ton of unreleased footage and music as the film-makers chart the entire history of the group. However, here are ten milestones in Oasis’ history that should definitely be included.

More details about the upcoming Oasis documentary film being produced by the makers of Amy, as both Noel and Liam Gallagher have offered their co-operation to the project and will both feature in the movie. It’s unlikely that they’ll appear together, but we can live in hope.

The two brothers were the sole constant members of the often turbulent Britpop giants, whose commercial fortunes peaked in the mid ‘90s but whose popularity endured until their eventual disintegration in Paris in August 2009. They have not worked together since and are believed not to have had any contact at all, though they have occasionally fired pot-shots at each other through the press.

Noel Gallagher Quite Liked Kanye West's Glastonbury Performance, Actually

Noel Gallagher Kanye West Florence and the Machine

One of the most forthright men in the music industry gave his opinion on another in a new interview – and the result was rather surprising. Despite not being a hip-hop aficionado, Noel Gallagher has given his reaction to Kanye West’s much-discussed Glastonbury headline set, describing his performance as “f***ing amazing” – for about half an hour.

The former Oasis songwriter memorably looked a bit silly back in 2008 when he dismissed Jay-Z’s booking – the first ever hip-hop headliner at Glastonbury – only for the rapper to put in a blinding performance. Now, while Kanye has proved rather more divisive, Gallagher admits that he was initially impressed, though he eventually lost interest through not being a fan of the genre.

Noel Gallagher has spoken out on Zayn Malik’s departure from One Direction in a new interview, expressing disbelief at the star’s choice not to tough it out with the group as, in his view, they have “at most, five years left”.

The former Oasis songwriter was talking to James Corden on ‘The Late, Late Show’ on Monday night, and said that he failed to grasp why Zayn would choose to quit the band when the group had a limited lifespan in any case. “I can't understand why he would do it,” he said, “because they've only got, at most, five years left.”

Noel Gallagher thought he'd seen the worst of his health troubles with his years of substance and alcohol abuse, but he's now revealed that he was on the verge of death following his first High Flying Birds arena tour. There wasn't too much high hope for Noel Gallagher's post-Oasis career to reach the heights of his 90s glory, but when Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds reached number one with their self-titled debut album in 2011, they were propelled immediately into huge venues and impressive festival slots. However, returning to the stage and taking a much more frontal role took it's toll on Gallagher's health by 2013 in more ways than one.
