The unranked list was selected by a panel of judges, including Tyga and DJ Khaled, who have previously made the cut of artists under 30 who have the star potential to graduate to the publication's Hip-Hop Cash Kings countdown, competing against the likes of Jay Z, Nicki Minaj and Dr. Dre for the biggest earnings of the year.

Alongside Azalea and Rae Sremmurd are Migos, Nipsey Hussle, Young Thug, YG, Kid Ink, PartyNextDoor and producers DJ Mustard, Mike Will Made-It and Hit-Boy, among others.

Artists are only eligible to appear on the Hip-Hop Cash Princes once.
