Jazz Singer Mark Murphy Has Died At The Age Of 83.
The vocalist passed away on Thursday (22Oct15) from complications of pneumonia in Englewood, New Jersey, according to the New York Times.
Murphy began singing with his brother's band as a teenager and moved to New York City to pursue his musical dream after graduating from Syracuse University in 1953.
While living in New York, he worked as an actor and musician, but settled on music and released his first album, Meet Mark Murphy, in 1956. He went on to record more than 50 albums and was nominated for six Grammy Awards.
