Frankie Grande is ''proud'' that his sister Ariana apologised for the donut-licking fiasco.

The 32-year-old TV star has supported his younger sibling throughout the incident which unfolded when security footage of the singer licking a donut and saying ''I hate American's'' was leaked to the press.

He told US magazine: ''I am proud of her apology, and that she has done it. I just hope that we can all move forward from here.''

And on Friday he took to social media to defend Ariana and send her some positive words.

''He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her. #WeForgiveYouAriana. U made a mistake & r being judged very harshly for it but ur doing the right thing in the face of it & I'm so proud.(sic)''

The 'Love Me Harder' hit-maker is currently being investigated by the police and the Environmental Health Department because she was seen spitting on a tray of donuts that were left out on the counter and sold to customers.

However the former Nickelodeon star released a statement and Youtube video sincerely apologising for her actions and explained that her frustration was aimed at the growing obesity crisis that is facing the US.
