Shink, also known as Chance, enjoyed a brief music career in the late 1980s as part of 1960s-style pop group Ceremony, of which Bono, then known as Chastity, was also a singer/guitarist.

Shink has since become an outspoken activist for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues and has worked on West Hollywood's Planning Commission for the past two years, and now she is seeking to officially enter local politics by running in the 2 June (15) elections.

Cher hosted a Beverly Hills fundraiser for Shink earlier this month (Apr15) and she recently told The Hollywood Reporter, "West Hollywood is so, so special to me, and so is Heidi. West Hollywood needs Heidi’s tenacity, integrity and activism."

Thanking the pop superstar for her public backing, Shink tweets, "Such an honor to have Cher's endorsement for my run for #WEHO City Council! #ThinkShink on June 2nd".
